I think I'm on safe ground to say that you and I will disagree on the Harry and Meghan situation, jim. For me it's all to do with the fact that they were the ones who wanted to leave the "firm" and wanted to leave the toxic UK tabloid press behind. They didn't want to commit themselves to the Royal lifestyle and duties.
Now while I feel sorry for them with regard to the incessant glare of publicity, it is they who have courted that publicity with their interviews on US TV, all the while complaining about invasion of privacy in the UK - definitely hypocritical. Judging by all accounts, Meghan is a member of a dysfunctional family, as is Harry. He obviously learnt a lot from his mother about courting media attention when it suited and going all defensive when it didn't. She was very manipulative and he is going the same way.
As I understand it, convention decrees that IF Charles takes the throne, Archie as his grandson is entitled to be called Prince Archie. No doubt there will be a huge hoo-ha about that with accusations flying between the two sides.
That's my view on the situation and in no way is a defence of the Royal Family.
