Hear hear!! On the Scottish deficit bullshit alone one can comment that the Scot govt runs an annual surplus, NOT A DEFICIT, and has done so every year since 2007. The provisional surplus for 2018-19 is £449M. On the other hand, UK govts have run annual deficits every year since 2001 - and most years since 1945!!!!!! Scotland only has a notional deficit if elements of this endemic UK deficit are apportioned hypothetically to the normal Scot govt surplus, as happens in the GERS paper exercise. I could go on re this "tin foil hat" crap (incl that old bogus unionist oil argument! ) but I must ultimately say that we are in a crisis that we have never witnessed in our lifetimes and I support the Scot govt in its quest to mitigate the impact and, as Nicola Sturgeon recently said herself - politics are shelved and we move to a unified approach to tackle this as effectively as we can do it and as mistakes could well be made along the way in the quest to eradicate this threat. Let's do what is necessary, at home and internationally, and together we will hopefully minimise the destructive impact of COVID-19.
