My daughter works for NHS Scotland in a senior position SCO and I'll caution you right away in making that unqualified comment/opinion. NHS Scotland is not perfect but its overall operation and performance are superior to what is happening in England. It is also different in many areas of its services to the Scottish people. My view, and my more qualified daughter agrees 100% on this, is that NHS Scotland should indeed be protected from a totally different ideology that the Tories/Brexit govt want to impose on a devolved practise. Also don't forget there is a huge proportion of staff who work tirelessly within the NHS Scotland set up who despise the Tories and their shit ideology/attitude when it comes to health servs and many of them are well aware of these ideological attacks on NHS England and the possible threat to the services up here that they proudly regard to be better. And why shouldn't that be the case anyway?? Scotland is a smaller country with a smaller population and I would expect that positivity to be the case and one must add the mitigation measures that the Scottish govt still has to administer because of the austerity actions that have been imposed by the Tories for almost a decade. This factor is always conveniently omitted by critics (and particularly political critics like Johnson himself who doesn't have a scooby re the true facts re Scottish devolved practises and just utters negative soundbites without redress!!) of certain areas of Scottish governance in which financial mitigation is absolutely necessary but there are obvious negative consequences/implications in the overall distribution of annual capital, revenue budgets plus general standards and that is a fact but a "necessary evil" that the Scot govt have been accustomed to dealing with down the years. Just bear that in mind when uttering general criticisms like this latest one!!
