Dartford 2-3 Kingstonian
Kingstonian
Kingstonian reach the Emirates FA Cup First Round after a dramatic 3-2 win at Princes Park.
An entire squad of heroes created history on this day as Kingstonian reached the First Round Proper of the Emirates FA Cup after a hard-fought, nail-gnawing, heart-stopping, glory-gaining, history-making win against National League South club Dartford at the Darts' Princes Park.
Reece Hall opened the scoring with a wonderful right footed strike from just outside the box in the 9th minute. The lead was doubled in the 21st minute after Dan Hector intercepted a pass, crossed into the box to Louie Theophanous, who controlled and passed the ball into the back of the net. K's weren't finished, as in the 40th minute, Dan Bennett was felled in the penalty area, with Tom Kavanagh smashing the resulting penalty home.
Dartford finally got past the Kingstonian defence in the 42nd minute when Andy Pugh's fine finish reduced the deficit, and that was the prelude of a nerve-wracking second half that saw the Darts have the vast majority of the possession. However, they only breached the K's defence one more time thanks to Daniel McQueen's 71st minute goal. Nineteen more minutes of normal time plus five minutes of stoppage time were suffered by the K's faithful, but the men in yellow never stopped running, never stopped working and never stopped believing and finally, the referee blew the whistle that confirmed Kingstonian's place in the First Round Proper.
