The Lotus Accumulator - All Welcome 2 Join
#1
After our astonishingly unsuccessful start last week we'd better go into a second week to see if anyone else would like to join. With 5,047 points available and the League Leader on just 7 points, there's plenty of scope to catch up. Joining late is great and I, not you, will add £1 to our crowd funding for every participant.

Just put your seven predictions in order in reply to this. That's all you're doing finding teams that will meet the criteria below:-

Prediction One - Name a team that will win AT HOME.
Prediction Two – Name a team that will win AWAY.
Prediction Three – Name a team to win AT HOME by TWO clear goals.
Prediction Four – Name a team that will be involved in a GOALLESS DRAW.
Prediction Five – Name a player who will score a goal.
Prediction Six – Name a team that wins by exactly THREE clear goals.
Prediction Seven – Name a team that concedes FOUR goals or more.

A full explanation appears in our first post if you want it. Although the points accumulate the Lotus Accumulator doesn't work exactly the same as an accumulator at the bookies (and you don't need to understand betting to take part).

For those like Amelia Chaffinch who are baffled by betting. Here's brief explanation of how that works:-

If you are predicting one event and it is assessed as 3/1 against it happening then if you put a pound on it you get £3 back plus your one pound stake.

If you predict two events happening and one is 3/1 and the other is 2/1 the odds against it happening are (3x2) + (3+2) = 11/1. That is known as a double and your £1 makes £11 plus your £1 stake.

If you predict three events and one is 3/1, another 2/1 and the last 4/1 the odds against it happening are the 11/1 you know about from above increase as follows (11x4) + (11+4) = 59/1, so your £1 treble brings you a total of £60 including the return of your stake.

Suppose you go for four events 2/1 3/1 4/1 and the last one Evens .... evens is 1/1, the odds when all four are correct is (59x1) + (59+1) = 119/1 so you see how the odds increase against you the more events you attempt to predict ...... and the returns if you get it right become addictive.

BUT for the Lotus Accumulator you don't need to know any of this. All you need to know about is how this week's football will go. In the case of my team Chesterfield that just means assessing the extent of impending disaster, but there are apparently teams out there with a more positive attitude too. You are simply aiming to get seven predictions right each week, or judging by last week, ever.
