Well England are through. A 3-0 win you can't complain and the ladies performed in a thoroughly professional way. Which can't be said of the officials and the Cameroon players.
First of all, the elbow on Parris was a straight red. Unquestionable. The spitting on Duggan. Disgusting, whether she meant it or not. Another red for me.
The first goal, was it a back pass? Of course it was. The keeper at fault. If in doubt, give it a clout. Very well placed shot from Houghton. 1-0.
Second goal, the liner clearly got it wrong and it was correctly overturned. Duggan on the far side was nowhere near interfering with play. Can't understand why the Cameroonians were so annoyed.
I can understand the next controversial decision though. Their disallowed goal. Technically yes it was. But this is one of those that I think should go down to the original decision. If it's that tight a margin, it isn't an obvious refereeing error.
Then England go three up with a well worked corner routine and it's game over.
There was then the penalty VAR didn't give for the foul on Kirby. Again not a massive error, but as the rules are at the moment, it's a penalty and should've been overturned.
Finally the foul on Houghton. Red card all day. Wouldn't make any difference to the result but it was a terrible challenge and the weak referee, who clearly wasn't good enough for this level of the game, let the Cameroon player off.
So in conclusion, good English performance. Could've been more and should've had the ref got her red card out.
