Sounds like it would have happened if we were in the EU or not. Turns out the Government isn't allowed to loan them the £30 million due to the EU and WTO having the same ruling. They stop a Government letting an industry fail and then swoop in and prop it up artificially.
Problem is I don't think the Tories care about the steel industry or any industry come to that, majority of British manufacturing has gone under or ceased to exist because in their eyes its cheaper to import or buy it from abroad.
The EU has 73% tariffs on Chinese Steel and the US has high tariffs on EU and Chinese steel but our Government voted against having high tariffs on Chinese steel.
Too many people will blame the EU and the EU hasn't really helped British manufacturing but the majority of the blame has to lie with the Tories.
