There is quite a lot of talk amongst Democrats to revamp or replace the Electoral College but its not a priority or something that is likely to get enough support. It is a flawed system but until the last 20 years has pretty much worked. Now with the east and west coast being Democratic strongholds, and the fly-over states being mostly red, it means the large population centers are not getting the right number of EC votes compared to states like Montana.
Trump doesn’t represent anybody working class, black, white, Hispanic, male or female, but his core support base is predominantly white working class, these are the ones who put him in power and without them he is nothing. The BBC and London print media are correct in this point from what I have seen, the BBC in particular writes some excellent articles on the current situation in the US and rarely do I see them write something I wouldn’t broadly agree with.
