R.I. P to a true Canadian legend. The great Jean Beliveau, star of the Montreal Canadiens. Brilliant on the ice, he was a true gentleman off the ice, always had time to talk to fans, sign autographs, visit sick folk. Not like the overpaid, arrogant sob's nowadays. A true gent. And he led the Habs to 10 Stanley Cups!!
The only footballer who comes to mind for me that even approaches him in his class and integrity would be Stanley Mathews, maybe Tom Finney.
Former team mate Yvon Cournier (the pocket rocket) said it all at his funeral yesterday. "O capitaine, mon captaine. Bon voyage."
