I've conceded to the fact that populism and populist parties (not just in the US) have "filled a vacuum" created by failed political and economic policies. IMO people have never learned from past "black periods" (eg the 1930s) when these kinda "RW suspects" have "crawled out the woodwork" and peddled their shamelss "simple solutions" and false promises to an unsuspecting public, many of whom were quite happy to "jump" on a "bandwagon of hate". Deja vu!
The worst thing for me now is that ignorance and stupidity is being openly celebrated again. We see it with Trump’s cult and the hardcore brexiteers who refuse to see facts and evidence put in from them.
It’s only going to get worse as more countries and people around the world start shifting towards the far right and more ignorant politicians get support and recognition.
