Its different these days though with transfers. There is no transfer list, every player is available for transfer, you just need to speak to the club first.
Joao is certainly worth something after his performances last season and he is in the last year of his contract so now is the time to sell or to sign him up on an extension. Clare is gone, he wouldn't sign a new contract and allowed his current one to run out so is now a free agent although I think we would still get some compensation if he stayed in England but as of yet he hasn't found a club. This is what DC brought Katrien in for though, its her job to wheel and deal to get the books right but its not going to be easy to get rid of the deadwood. DC has made some mistakes but I think they were honest mistakes or ones made after getting shit advice, I think her appointment was a sign that he is learning that he needs help running the day to day business of the club!!
I don't think that is as daft as it sounds. Our form at the end of the season once we got 3-4 players back was very good and our performances were excellent. As you say its about keeping the core players fit, something we completely screwed up last season but I think that was a hangover from previous injuries they had which Carlos didn't let heal properly before pushing them out on the pitch.
Looking at the players we do have, the first 14-15 squad members should make up a very good side with the right tactics etc
Westwood
Lees
Pudil
van Acken
Hutchinson
Bannan
Lee
Pelupessy
Reach
Forestieri
Hooper
Fletcher
Joao
Nuhiu
Now its up to Jos to create a formation that works and add some youngsters into the mix to form a squad. We are light at FB on both sides, need to hope that Baker and one other can come through the ranks and have a positive effect.

The players weren't fit last year, everyone knows that now but they will be this year. The way we finished last season as well was practically play-off form and that was still with half a dozen or more of our 1st team missing. Reaching for my helmet.....
