I expected both to be back in the mix again. I wouldn't have thought us nicking a midfielder off Reading would have caused such a fall. Wendies just have an expensive set of players that don't play like a team often enough this season. Saturday's result probably had them looking at each other and thinking what if? Decks will likely be cleared in the Summer in South Yorkshire and Berkshire.
To be fair our drop has coincided with virtually our entire first team being out injured for the majority of the season. First team regulars who have hardly played include Forestieri, Lees (back last week), Westwood, Bannan (sub against L**ds first game back for months), Lee, Fletcher, Hooper, van Acken, Matias, Abdi and Hutchinson (L**ds was first game back). At one point we had 16 of our first team squad on the treatment table. Not saying we would be getting promoted or anything but back in October when the injuries started we were a couple of points and places off the playoffs, since then we haven't been able to string any form together at all.
Relegation is still a possibility for both us and Reading, we probably need at least one more win but with some of our established players getting fit again we should be ok, then we need to do some creative business in the summer to avoid FFP sanctions and try again!!
