It's amazing how badly the UK government has approached brexit. After the 'fudge' in December, they'd have known the EU was going to have to present a draft treaty before the March summit, not least because the EU told them exactly that was what they were going to do....and they have in great detail
The fudge was always going to struggle to survive because as we have discussed already it cant possibly keep everyone happy. So the UK should have taken the opportunity to write their own draft treaty and presented that first sweetening the options mentioned in December into as fudge friendly a language as possible to avoid this blow up. Isn't the first rule of negotiations involving treaties or new contracts to have them attempt to amend your document, rather than you having to amend theirs? I think it is. They are making a real xxxx of this, probably deliberately.
My feeling is still that May has decided she can't deliver a brexit deal which will get through her whole party, so her only option is to 'let' the EU present one she can tart up as the next best thing or she's forced to crash out with no deal to appease the brexit loonball fringe.....Or completely cave in to the EU in the summer.
