The GB Women lost to USA by 4-7 in a game that they never looked like having any control or consistency. In a shabby performance, Eve Muirhead was forced into a desperate game in the last end to lose 2 shots despite having last stone. In another lacklustre performance against China, the GB Women again struggled all game, eventually winning after an extra end. Even the normally reliable Lauren Gray was very ordinary. As a slight consolation, pre-tournament favourites Canada have already lost 2 games, leaving GB in 3rd place at the moment. Tomorrow is a welcome day of rest for GB, their next games being against Denmark and Korea on Saturday.
For the Men, GB again won by 6-5 with another last stone draw by Kyle Smith, this time against Japan, to also lie in 3rd place. The Men are battling through each game, always in the game and definitely playing as a cohesive team. They have 1 game tomorrow lunchtime against Sweden, who are 2nd. The biggest surprise in the Men's event is the poor form of Norway - probably because of their fondness for garish trousers!
In the Men's Skeleton, GB's Dom Parsons is currently in 4th place, only 0.03 seconds behind 3rd place. He finishes the event early tomorrow morning with Heat 3 at 00.30hrs and Heat 4 at 02.15. Heats 1 and 2 in the Women's Event are at 11.20 and 12.30, with Lizzy Yarnold and Laura Deas showing great form in the Practice Runs.
The Men's 15km Free event in the Cross Country Skiing features Andrew Musgrave, Andrew Young and Callum Smith and Zoe Gillings-Brier features in the Ladies' Snowboard Cross for GB. Alex Tilley and Charlie Guest are the GB entrants in the re-scheduled Ladies' Slalom.
