To be fair to Willie Rennie (and no, I don't like him either), there is a difference. He is not wanting a second EU Reerendum, he wants a referendum on the final deal between the UK and the EU. I'm sure that, if Scotland gains independence, he will propose that Scottish voters have the chance to vote on the final divorce settlement before the split.

The thing that interests me is that Nicola seems to have already conceded defeat to the Tories. In my opinion, she should be urging all English non-Tory voters to vote for the second-placed party in Tory marginal seats. Does she want to get rid of the Tories or not? Or is she willing to put up with another 5 years of Tory rule, so that she can guarantee support from her committed separatist voters and perhaps gain votes from disgruntled supporters of other parties?

The SNP are irrelevant in this election and she (and the PM) knows it. The SNP can only manage a swing of one seat away from the Tories and could just as easily lose one, so the only chance of defeating the Tories is for the English to do their stuff and vote Labour or Lib Dem.

Like hibeejim21, I rather like the Labour manifesto in general. The Lib Dems are woolly-headed as usual and the Tories are ........, well, just Tories. The best way to improve our lot is to spend money on capital investment in our infrastructure and that means raise extra money through taxes - not immediately vote-worthy but it does make sense in the long run. Austerity does not work with top-heavy management structures. Get the money through to the men on the ground and get building from the bottom up.
