I'm torn on Rondon. Really I cannot fault the blokes work-rate or professionalism and he's chipped in with some important goals this season after getting through a bit of a torrid first season. I think his pace is also really underrated too as I think he's probably 2nd only to McClean in our entire squad for sheer acceleration and top speed.
Personally I think the guy is crying out for a strike partner and he'd be lethal in a system that accommodated for this. At the moment we're still packing the midfield and using him mostly to hold the ball up to bring us further up the pitch, laying the ball off to one of our more creative midfielders/wingers to develop the attack further.
On the other side of the argument is that we only paid £12m for him, so any offer of £30m+ isn't to be sniffed at. Dries Mertens would be the player I would chase with that money hypothetically if Rondon were to be sold.
But to be fair to Big Salo, he's done more than OK by us and I'd lean towards making sure we retain his services for at least another 2 seasons as I think he's only just hitting his prime at 27 years old now.
