It's not a dream Theo. Pragmatic and straight-thinking Scots know full well that we can 1. Run our own country and do it effectively
2. Build strong alliances, something we're good at and been doing it for years - healthy inward investment will naturally ensue 3. Still trade with UK countries anyway - that aint gonna change and the economic strategy of doing that is set out in our previous White Paper!
I'd take Scottish Independence tomorrow to get away from our 'common political enemy/opponent' the Tory ####s who just never disappear from the political landscape and this time the damage they inflict on our country will be unfathomable and beyond anything I could ever have imagined. Hence the natural recourse to see my relatively small country forging it's way in another more positive direction and who cares if people like you 'have a laugh' - the successful end goal is by far the more important than the usual negative jibes that come from the unionist front!! IMO there is no strong political alliance to oust these Tory ####s even at the end of the next 3 years esp with the NLP in such a political mess! I personally hope the Tories 'burn their boats' for years to come after this mess but there is no formidable/significant opposition. If it was different, I'd possibly reconsider my position, but it aint! We bide our time up north and I guarantee the 'mood' could well change if the Tories don't disappoint with their shit again!
