To stay in front last time SCO they had to boost the taxman for tens of millions. This time round its going to be much harder as celtic have become a much bigger club than rangers now. In terms of finance, scouting, stadium, crowds, manager and coaching staff, spending power and presence throughout the footballing world they are miles ahead.Miles.
All they need to do is keep recycling the champions league money properly. There was always a chance in the past they could xxxx it up with the jokers they had on the board but not anymore. With deila they covered any euro shortfall by selling players to the EPL. Rangers are up against a very well run business.
And rangers just don't have a very good calibre of person running them currently IMO. And in some cases they bring more problems to the table than they solve.
Their only hope going forward is to try and produce as many of their own youngsters as possible and supplement them with decent loan deals.
