There's got to come a time soon when clubs just won't loan to us, given recent track record of (non-)use of loanees. Mind you, Chelsea are reclaiming Ake from Bournemouth because he''s hasn't been playing so it's not just us. I suppose if a manager really comes to think that a player isn't good enough, it would be daft to play him. Galloway's still playing for England u-21s, though.

We have had a few decent loans over the last few years; Lukaku, Richardson, Ben Thingy (i think he came from Wigan), 'Norman" Wisdom (Oh no, not him) and I'm sure there must have been one or two more and I think we signed one or two of them permanently.  I don't know how much chance you have to do, effectively, "due diligence" before borrowing these blokes but i should think we grabbed anyone in our summer transfer catastrophe.  Last season Gnabry looked fair but only got one chance.  The little fella from Spurs didn't look up to much to me.  This summer's Galloway, well......I only played at Birmingham Works level (Champs Div 1 about 1976, no applause required) but his defending is naive.  I'll give him one basic, "Don't get on the touch-line side of your man!"  Nyom's a loan isn't he.  He's OK.  I know it probably doesn't look too good on us shipping players back early but, you can't keep giving games to other club's players if they're not up to it.  No controversy intended, vicar, just felting like chatting a bit.  "Well, what a time to do it" I hear you think.
