No, he can't, he has to agree to it. He has a contract with Albion and he can enforce it, just as Albion can. It's why a lot of clubs can't shift high earners and they are forced to allow players to see out their contracts. Kevin Doyle at Wolves was an example.

Your right it would be typical for this situation to arise. There is also the chance it could work in our favour regarding Carvalho, if both he and his agent are aware that they can not hold us to ransom as we have a back up. Not sure what Camacho will make of being an obvious second best though.
