2016/17 (Jan 30 Update) WBA January Transfer Window
"Sakho really doesn't want to come to us and who can blame him. He is obviously holding out for a more attractive club."

Worldclass, not saying there aren't problems with the club, but not sure how you came to that conclusion? It's just not true. The club wouldn't have spent so long negotiating a transfer fee if he didn't want to come. He is having his medical today as the club doctor was in Torquay with the rest of the squad.

Also the abilities of Gamboa and Pocognoli seem to be going higher and higher in some fans heads the longer they don't play. Frustrating seeing Evans playing there, but neither are good enough. By chasing Shlupp and Charlie Taylor, it's something the club are clearly trying to correct.

I'm hardly Pulis' biggest fan, but there are bigger problems than him atm and everything won't be suddenly be all rosey once he's left.

Sakho really doesn't want to come to us and who can blame him. He is obviously holding out for a more attractive club. The club although well run has been on the downward spiral since Dan Ashworth left. It turns out he was our best signing of the past decade.

It hurts me that others throughout the country think we are a non footballing side and are fodder for the others. Now a lot of you will give me pelters for this but I don't care to be honest, this is ALL down to Pulis. Again the other night he played Dawson, Olsson, McCauley and Evans across the back 4 FFS!!

He still won't give Gamboa and Pocognoli a run out, a proper LB and RB respectively. OK if he doesn't like them then cancel their contracts, pay them off....DO SOMETHING, there are many options....SELL, LOAN, RELEASE and why is LAMBERT still here??

The man is stubborn and we are going nowhere under his management but we ARE getting a more and more unattractive proposition for decent players.

I really hope that if this takeover happens they get rid of Pulis immediately.

You know you're at the bottom of the list when clubs like Stoke, Bournemouth, Swansea are deemed a more attractive option. I grew up in the 70's and 80's era and I was so very proud to be an Albion fan BUT this man is ruining the whole reputation of what watching and expecting an Albion team to play like was once known for...........playing attractive, attacking football.

The Ironic thing is I wasn't renewing my season ticket but my Missus got me one. I will not be using it until he goes. I have tried to palm it off on a few Albion mates but no interest, I even said just use it for nothing.....no interest. My Son doesn't want to use it either.

My hope is he will get the boot and I can get back to watching some football.

NURSE!!! BEDPAN!!!!

Nice piece, and well said, worldclass. Better than loads of anti-Pulis rantings that have just been knee-jerk stuff Thumb up

I've always been very reluctant to knock TP; IMO he came here and saved us from almost certain relegation and did well with a very mediocre squad, but that was then and this is now. As you say, we haven't moved forward at all.....and because everyone else HAS, we've gone backwards.
I agree that the time has come to change. I quite like TP in a lot of ways, but that's not enough. He IS stubborn, blinkered and tactically limited in the extreme, and (again) you're right - what decent player would want to come here?

I hope we don't wait till we're marooned at the bottom before something is done because it'll be too late then.......but with the takeover still not announced, time's running out for us regarding the recruitment that we desperately need.

Good realistic posts by Worldclass and Drewks.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at Board Meetings, and I'm quite sure that Jeremy has taken stock of relatively the worst football I've ever witnessed at The Hawthorns, and the fact that there are so many disillusioned fans. Instead, though, we should get right behind the Team (like them or not) and prove that we're the best fans in the Prem - and not the worst (as we were last season). Let's see what August brings. Otherwise World Class Albion will be changing his name to WestMidlandsClass Albion.

To be totally honest I do not know if Sakho is the right player anyway.  For me alarm bells started ringing when he "refused to go to pre-season training" with West Ham, because he wanted a move.  Is getting rid of a Sulko and swapping for a Sakho, really a good move? and how fit is he with no pre-season under his belt?

Jury is still out for me on Sakho!

It'll 'cut no ice' on here...it's all doom and gloom... Sad

Besides....he doesn't want to come here. He's waiting for a more attractive club... Thumb up

Ok things are changing be patient
If Sakho didn't want to come its took him one day to agree personal terms,
That's quick by Albion standards Smile

Charlie Taylor hopefully in by the weekend, fee around £6 million......

Then a couple of hours later ...............

From the mail:

Once the Sakho deal is over the line, the Birmingham Mail understands Albion will quickly turn their attention to Leeds United's Charlie Taylor.

The path appears clear for Taylor to move on after refusing a new deal and reportedly handing in a transfer request.

Leeds are now resigned to losing the Fans' Player of the Year, but will not entertain bids below £5 million for the Championship star.

The Baggies are happy to offer that sum and could be willing to go higher if it guarantees the signature of Taylor, the Club's top target at left-back.

ITK still saying a takeover is going to be done early August
Increased bid for Schlupp and a CB still on the radar,

With personal terms being agreed Quickly and a sudden rush of transfer activity (maybe) don't shoot the messenger Confused
Maybe a takeover is not that far away ?

On holiday in Greece now into 13th. So will update thread when back. Really great to see things happening re squad. Get the feeling there will be at least 3 more deals (incoming) and a couple being sold before I am back.

Always suspicious of rumours about swap deals, particularly when the rumour comes from talksport but Rondon, Sakho and Diouf would be decent options up front and we wouldn't need to worry as much about injuries and suspensions.

Tidy and Harry J, I'm not going to get into an argument as you seem to pick snippets of peoples comments and take the proverbial with them......That's fine, if that's your level.

I was reading whats on the sites re Sakho not sure if he wanted to come to the Albion plus a mate of mine is a season tkt holder with the Hammers, he has a so called mate ITK there who told him Sakho was very doubtful re Pulis style of football and was hoping for a 'bigger' club to come along.

He may well be coming but my point is this and its quite simple.....If any of the other teams deemed more attractive than us came in for him, do you really think he would come to us. He's shot himself in the foot with his behaviour at West Ham so what real choice has he got but to leave and go to the only club interested in him.

Do you think Berahino really wants to go to STOKE or PALACE???? He was expecting SPURS, CHELSEA, MAN UTD but he will go because he too has got no choice because of the way he has been. Neither Berahino or Sakho will want to lose face and stay where they are only to be ridiculed by fans and press alike.

I personally hope Sakho does the business as I'm sure we all do BUT  I still maintain PULIS needs to go.

He's killing this club.....Look at how everyone hated Stoke and look at them now, they are flourishing.

I hope for change and the sooner the better IMO Thumb up
