Just 5 years for killing his girlfriend. What do you think?

Not enough. Whether he meant to kill his girlfriend or not is not the point. He meant to kill somebody. Whoever was behind that door wasn't coming out alive

Scandalous - he has gotten away very lightly for this. It shows how cheap life is in South Africa and possibly how poor the people are that are involved in the legal system.

Not sure exactly what his imprisonment will be like considering his disability but hopefully not a cushy as it would be here in the UK.So hopefully it will be an ordeal for him.

Given the talk here about the footballer/rapist returning to his sport, it is also outrageous that he might be allowed to compete at international levels when he is released!

Problem with this was that he was found not guilty of murder, but was found guilty of culpable homicide, which I think is the same as manslaughter in the UK. I suppose the this means he didn't intend to kill his girlfriend but did intend to harm the "intruder" he claimed he though was in the bathroom. If it had turned out to be an intruder breaking into his house and he did this then I would have thought he would have been given no sentence as this would have been classed as self defence!!

As regards him competing again, haven't the International Athletic bodies said that it doesn't matter when he is released, he is banned form all competition for the full 5 year sentence that was imposed?? If that is the case then he is done as an athlete from an international standpoint.

Yes I believe they have. I think he can only compete domestically.
Not all men are sexist but all men can stop sexism. CALL IT OUT!
