Morrison 70k a week?
Sorry but if this is true then I'll drive him down. Always liked him, a very good player on his day, and that's half the problem he doesn't have that many. I don't think anyone can justify paying him that amounts of money so if other clubs want to be silly enough to do so then they can feel free.

If 70k a week IS true then unfortunately it's a fact he'll be gone as I'm sure we'll not be offering that sort of dosh (...nor SHOULD we, IMO).
I've got to disagree with you though Dan - I think he's much more consistent than you're saying, and still is a top, top player (or was before his injury) and will be very hard to replace; I think he's a player who could've played for a top 4 team over the last 5 seasons, he's that good.
We've been very lucky to have him, and if he's off, I wish him all the best
(All very much my opinion, of course )

I think saying not consistent was probably wrong- more can fade out of games and be quiet. But I agree he has been superb and a great servent for us, and it would be a real shame to see him go. I do hope he stays as he is very creative and is one of the only attacking players we have at the moment haha!

I suppose the obvious question then is, why did none of the top four clubs - or even any of the wannabe top four clubs - ever try and sign him? Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Mozza, I agree he's been a great servant and probably has a year or two left in the tank at this level, but like a lot of our long-serving players, I think he drifted into being simply "reliable" rather than "outstanding".
Mind you, if we're letting the likes of him and Sess go (plus Saido, presumably) then this transfer window is definitely sink or swim time for the club. We're cutting loose the players who, for all their flaws, have proved capable of getting us to forty points time and time again. We either replace them with quality - and preferably young blood - or we're in trouble.

But these players - and Biscuitman - were/are out of contract, so are obviously open to any offers that would suit them better - obviously Mozza has strong links to the NE and so this and money will obviously be impossible to ignore.....the point is that we are not really 'letting them go' as we're not in the driving seat if a player wants to leave!
Different of course with Saido - but I agree with your point of this being a real watershed period for us though, Ska'd

If we'd really wanted to keep them, we'd have had new/improved contracts on the table for them six or twelve months ago; thus, we are indeed letting them go by allowing their existing contracts to run down, as we did with Mulumbu last year. I'm hoping that this is all part of a new recruitment plan worked out in advance. Time will tell.

Haha, he started off quite poor and then never really recovered. Replaced him with Chillwell from Leicester (loan)what was quality but way out of our League then we replaced him with Middlesboro reserve left back Husband who was better than him. Then to top it off he slates the managers rotation policy off, claims he's playing well and is aiming to move back to the Premiership.....no chance
