They claim big plans - Infrastructure etc - maybe knock it down and build a hotel?

18/05/2016 : Dr Tony Jiantong Xia is the new owner of Aston Villa, subject to the fit and proper person and other checks.

AVFC - Club statement: Sale confirmed

AVFC - Introducing Tony Xia

Now what is required is for Aston Villa to be run properly and like Rangers have done this Season, Smash the Championship.

20/05/2016 : Yesterday Aston Villa Chairman Steve Hollis gave a summary of the sale of Aston Villa to Dr Tony Xia.

AVFC - Hollis on Tony Xia, fan role, manager update and the future

I think Dr Xia should retain Steve Hollis, the Club needs someone in day to day control and Hollis has shown competence in this role. It would be decent if the staff cuts Hollis has had to oversee due to the anticipated reduced revenues were reversed. There has been plenty of talk of money coming into the Club, so let the first tranche of it be on the folks who keep the Club running, day to day. That especially includes those who man the Upper Trinity; all of Villa Park should be open, it will need to be.

Just a note of caution.
All the money in the world will not bring success, unless the right people are in the right jobs, on and off the pitch.
If the correct decisions are made, in all departments, then there is no limit to what Aston Villa can achieve (again).

Talk of rebranding as well - maybe another stadium being renamed after a product!

20/05/2016 : There have been several reports doubting Dr Xia's credentials.

All this information that has come to light in the MSM and online will be known (by now, if not before), by those charged with conducting the 'fit and proper person' and other tests. We have to trust that the investigations are carried out thoroughly and if Dr Xia is found to not be a fit and proper person, then this sale will be off.

Steve Hollis will have to try again.
