Feb 1st (Final Day): WBA January 2016 Transfer Window
I'll never understand why, instead of risking an unknown overseas Johnny, we didn't go for a proven British striker in the mould of Austin, Rhodes, McCormak etc and taken a punt on one like that. Mind you, there's a lot of things I don't understand about them thar Baggies.

Not sure Rhodes or McCormack are good enough, and sadly Charlie Austin's gone.
One player I would try for again is Shane Long, which I think has been mentioned in another thread.

Just read that we were the 30th richest club in the WORLD last year and with increased revenue at the end of this season we will rise even higher.
Not really sure how people can call us 'little old Albion'
I'm expecting some of this money to be spent in transfer fees but JP has always been adamant that he doesn't do much business in January.
Confident we will stop up but a few new faces wouldn't hurt would it ?

The pressure of living on £40K + each week must be massive. Bless.

The pressure of having 26,000 people scrutinise your performance and expect goals week in week out from you whilst you are centre of attention in a foreign country... don't think money is on his mind at that point

You're right enough, Dev. The pressure on me was unbearable when I got promoted (many years ago) to a job paying a whopping £20k (p.a.)

Trouble is Salomon knows he just ain't good enough.

Peter Crouch link - odds tumbling apparently.

Personally, for a January purchase, I would be OK with him - alongside Rondon - has to be better that Lambert and always scores goals.

Not brilliant but a proven goalscorer and Premiership experience a plenty.

Another consequence of being premier league, academy players don't break through, how many top flight teams bring kids into the first team, they reach fringes then get released or sold. If we were championship then maybe they would get a look in.

So was Lambert a goal scorer - what happened - must be our system! Cos no one is scoring.
