I do take the A1 sometimes Nice pit stop on the way back at the American Diner near Retford
The only downside of the A1 is the 30 odd mile trawl on single carriageways to/from our young'uns whereas if I use the M1 it's then dual carriageway most of the way and only about 300 yards on singles
And anyone who actually needs to use their brakes on a motorway, or the A1, is unaware of what is going on around them and doesn't know how to drive properly
