Feb 1st (Final Day): WBA January 2016 Transfer Window
Medical tonight? BBC say he's not travelling to the midlands till tomorrow. Perhaps he's got long legs. Or perhaps the BBC are a pile of rubbish (they still think Chester is at Hull, according to their piece on the Wales squad).

Oh great another centre-half.

Bollox, not what I wanted to hear, personally think lescot is a much better player. Still at least it's not for12 million, but even half that is too much.

Man Utd fan on .com delivers an appraisal of Jonny Evans:

"I think you're getting an excellent player and in a sense I'm very disappointed to see him go. On form, he's still the best defender we have. There was a time when we set the record for clean-sheets that he was arguably our best defender. He's an excellent passer and very good reader of the game. I think he'll do very well.

For the last 18 months for us, his confidence has been shot to pieces. He would be just returning to form and either get an injury setback or suspended. The spitting with Cisse was the final straw with LVG. He was actually coming back to form before that as well.

All-in-all, you're getting an excellent defender for a decent price. We are offloading a player who has been a great servant but is no longer in the managers plans. I really like Jonny and hope he does well for you guys."

If Evans comes in, there could be argument for us to revert to 3-5-2 with Evans and Chester playing to the left and right of McAuley. Both good ball players with a bit of pace. But knowing Pulis we'll just be a straight swap with Lescott and slot in next to McAuley.

Not too worried about Lescott going, I'm not as overly enamored with him as most of our fans. However, I would be disappointed to see him go to the Villa, because I'm against strengthening rivals and think he's a big improvement on some of the dross they have at the back.

If Lescott does join Villa he will have played for three of the four main West Midlands Clubs.

There can't be many players who have done that in the past.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

Curtis davies liam Ridgewell Craig Gardner in my memory.

I'll reserve judgement on Evans.

Kevin Phillips is probably the most famous to have done three of the four in recent times.

We have 3 centre backs too old and slow for the Premiership, Evans is younger, quicker and better than all 3. How anyone can complain is beyond me...
