Feb 1st (Final Day): WBA January 2016 Transfer Window
Hi, I´m Carlos from Venezuela, I´m new here. Glad to have "Salo" on your team, media in Venezuela is 99,99% assuming deal with West Bromwich is real, I think is the same in London. (yesterday Newcastle was winning the race but Zenit prefer your offer). Salomón Rondón has 41 games with Venezuelan National team scoring 13 goals. Is one of our top players and certainly our second player in English Premier League. First one was Fernando Amorebieta with Fullham (now in first division)

Salomon had 3 succesfull seasons in Russia with Rubin Kazan and Zenit but this season things change because a new Russian rule (just 6 foreign players on field) and Zenit has 10 foreign players. Salomon sudeendly has to go out from Zenit and last month teams like Sevilla, Rome and Liverpool were interested among other teams but finnaly West Bromwich was the lucky one. Aparently medical test will be tomorrow and then sign will be official.

I really hope Salomon could has a succesful season with you and fill your expectations. He plays in a sub20 World Cup, plays in Europe since 2008, has experience in Champion League and UEFA League, and of course his national team experience. He is a strong player and has impressive aerial power. As a anecdotical Info he likes to play with number 23 inspired in Michael Jordan.

We have the luck (as venezuelan fans) could see the Premier league games watching Directv. Russian League was impossible to see by TV.

Hi Carlos, thanks for joining and sharing that info! We're all hoping this transfer will go ahead, but we're nervous because we've seen our signings get hijacked by other teams in the past. Hopefully you'll get to see Salo make a mark with us.

If he does sign, and you start watching our matches this season, just remember: the town is West Bromwich, but us WBA supporters call our team "the Albion". If you can say Albion and have a sense of humour about everything that ever happens to us, you'll fit right in! Smile

Welcome Carlos and thank you for that info.

I think that we all hope that he will join us and add to our attacking options.

Going on from what Ska'd has said we are also known as 'the Baggies' and in the past, 'the throstles'

A throstle is a local term for a bird also known as a thrush and one sits proudly on our club badge.

Not sure whether the squad numbers have been allocated for this season yet but, last season Gareth McAuley wore the number 23 shirt.

Love all these class striker links, really shows some good ambition so very pleased. However, do you not feel that we still need 2 natural full backs?

Nah, clearly TP has had a brain transplant and has turned into Ossie Ardiles - you score3, we'll score 4.
Looking forward to that!

Sky Sports reporting that Salamon Rondon has passed his medical and has agreed terms. He is expected to sign next week.

Also reporting that Joleon Lescott has agreed a 12 month extension to his contract; again to be completed next week.

Not sure that I can cope with all this good news.

Think that I need to lie down in a darkened room for a bit. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin
