Isn't Chester a CB?? We need a RB and LB so can't understand this unless he can play in those positions. Every transfer window we do this, it so frustrating and embarrassing how poor we are compared to others. Affelay signed for Villa yesterday didn't he? What a player. All others 'DO', and Albion talk about it then lose out........TO SLOW ALBION.
If we do sign Chester, Lambert and Sako, it'll be Months before they gel. No pre season together again. A complete shambles. My missus always says 'Don't type when fed up and angry' BUT I have been like this for weeks AGAIN. Fed up of looking every day and seeing players linked only for them to go elsewhere or we hear nothing else FFS!! Deep Breaths PS Welcome back Beefy

Affelay signed for Stoke mate,
Chester can play RB or CB, Since TP arrived back from the states things are happening at a pace Bill Howell mentioned that the Chester signing (somewhat out of the blue) is what can be expected as a number of other targets have not even been mentioned in the press Key this year is patience at least our manager is having a say in the signings, lets face it we signed loads last year and with the exceptions of one or two all failed, TP said yesterday he will only sign players in positions we need and will improve the squad not just sign them for the sake of it . Nat Mansell @NatMansell 13m13 minutes ago Brum Mail articles suggests we could be close to signing players not even reported on in the media

Unless Chester will be used as a Centre Half and this allows Dawson to play as our first choice right back? That sounds more realistic

Lets hope you're right about signings we've not heard of as not overly impressed as yet. Heart rate lowered, breathing easier, Well Done Dr Beef

Also Hull fans are gutted at losing what some fans and x players are saying is the best the football player the club has had.
We will see i suppose but here's an interesting stat ........... Squawka Football @Squawka 11m11 minutes ago James Chester hasn't committed a single defensive error in his last 46 Premier League appearances. Mr Reliable.

Chester and Bako were links made very early in the summer and so we have been tracking them for a very long time.

I'm not sure what to make of Chester, I'll try to find out what he's like from some Hull fans on another board, 8m seems a bit much but there's no point worrying about it much. Imo this means Dawson will be first choice right back for this season.
On Affellay he's had serious injuries and might not be as good anymore so we don't need to put ourselves down too much for that one, also we won't be competing with Stoke this season imo. Let's get Sako and Lambert done soon. Also whoever mentioned pre-season, Lambert has had one with Liverpool and Chester probably has with Hull so fitness shouldn't be a big problem (although they might not be at Pulis standard) for those two, it is a concern with Sako though. Obviously them not having gelled will be a problem tho. |
