my mum keeps telling me stories about cockle sellers. Can't imagine they'd be popular nowadays.

It was scary when you think about it, they used to walk into the pub I worked in with a tray of open polystyrene cups on it with cockles or mussels in them soaked in vinegar!! There was no way of knowing where the hell they came from or how long he had been trying to sell them!!! Yet people always bought them!!

there's not much that I don't like food wise but mussels, cockles and whelks are things that I cant stomach at all. Think it's the texture, like chewing on one of them little tyres out of a box of lego

We are made of sterner stuff than the play station generation  Thumb up There's nowt like playing out as a kid and ingesting all the dirt and grime that goes with it to ward off "intolerance's" in later life  Thumb up  The PS generation have lived a sanitised life and have no immune system  Doh

I always liked Wards!!!

I couldn't eat any of those things as they always had sand in them and I can't stand that!!!

I played out and played PlayStation in equal amounts

Hardly ever get ill either. Couple of Christmases ago my whole family got norovirus apart from me who then had to look after everyone Thumb down
