Spain race recap:
Barcelona rarely gives a good race, and this was no exception. Rosberg took an easy victory after Hamilton lost a place to Vettel off the line. Hamilton struggled to get close enough to try to overtake Vettel, but eventually got past him at the pitstops. Ferrari not even trying to cover Hamilton by pitting Vettel about the same time was one of the few talking points of the race.
Raikkonen recovered from a poor qualifying to take 5th place, splitting the Williams pair of Bottas in 4th and Massa in 6th.
Riccardo took the best possible from his slow Red Bull in 7th.
Grosjean was again in the points for Lotus, driving around problems with his gearbox to take a good 8th place. At his final pitstot he overshot the pitbox , hitting his jackman who suffered torn ankle ligaments as well as painful bruising to his crotch where the jack hit him.
Maldonado in the other Lotus was one of only two retirements in the race, his rear wing end plate was broken after a collision on the opening lap, although he continued in the race until eventually retiring on lap 45.
A last lap tussle between Kvyat in the other Red Bull and Sainz in the Toro Rosso was investigated by the stewards, but no action was taken (with some questionable reasoning given by the stewards), leaving the race result as Sainz in 9th and Kvyat in 10th. Verstappen was 11th in the other Toro Rosso; both junior Red Bull cars struggled after going the wrong with car setup.
Sauber were slow, possibly showing they do not have the money to keep up with the development race. Ericsson was miffed that he was not let by teammate Nasr who was on the slower tyres, which compromised Ericsson's strategy.
The Force India drivers of Hulkenburg and Perez were anonymous in 13th and 15th.
McLaren were extra-disappointing, Button describing his car as "scary to drive" in 16th and Alonso retiring with brake problems after a visor tear-off got caught in the brake duct.
The Manor drivers trundled home several laps down, with FOM continuing the vendetta against them by doing their best not to show the cars on camera.
