Only Liverpool Manager not to win anything in the first three years did I hear?
Was the success of last year purely down to Suarez?
Lovren ,Lallana, Markovic havent lived up to their fees, Balotelli has tried hard but oft failed even Sturridge hasnt looked as sharp, Gerrard is finishing on a low note and Skrtel is probably off also their best defender, Mignolet has got back to form but would he make most peoples prem Top ten?
Some have suggested Klopp, but will there be better offers on the table? Does Liverpool`s name still have the draw or is it just about money?
I liked some of the buy`s but like Spuds transfers last year it may take them til next season to settle

I think he's doing alright myself. Give him time.
David Moyes did 11 years across the park without winning a trophy and everybody raved about what a good job he'd done.

The current team reminds me a bit of Roy Evans' side. Lots of potential for some nice passing in the midfield, but a defence full of liabilities and too much reliance on a single goalscorer in the squad. I like Markovic and he has great potential, but Lovren and Lallana have been very poor (I don't even know what to make of Balotelli - he's not a bad player, he simply doesn't seem able to get the job done up front). To be fair to Rodgers I don't think many people thought their form would be so rubbish after having great seasons at Southampton. And the sooner Liverpool move on from Gerrard the better, he's just not got that ability to make a difference when it matters these days. I don't even rate Sktrel that highly - he's got a great physical presence but concedes too many stupid fouls and a lot gets past him. If you look at the Champions League winning side from 10 years ago it was players like Hyypia, Hamann and Gerrard at his peak that were the rocks you could build success on. I don't see a single one of that type at the club these days.

Yes, last season was a blip down to the form that both Suarez and Sturridge showed across the whole season. I also think they were the main beneficiaries of MUs slump with Moyes, which allowed them to get into the CL. Without CL football and money they will struggle to attract the best players and will join Spurs as part of the top 6 but looking up at the top 4 most seasons!!

Do they have anything to build on in the current squad?
I reckon the front three-Sterling(if they keep him), Coutinho and Sturridge should be the base (with Markovic as the other)
Henderson could be a integral part but he`s a Ronnie Whelan rather than a Ray Kennedy or Steve McMahon, I certainly dont mean that in a bad way at all in fact its complimentary, they need a midfield rock and its not Lucas Leiva you can find far better midfield destroyers in the Brazilian league than him never will be top drawer

I think their squad is very thin on true quality. To me they epitomize the typical premier league team of buying cheaper foreign players who are probably no better than some of the English youngsters they have coming through the ranks who get no game time because of this!!!

He inherited a talented but badly unbalanced squad from Kenny Daglish-who had been allowed to run rampant with the chequebook
Yet 200M spent and even Rodgers admitted last season was a fluke! Lets not also forget Suarez who many people thought was the reason they ever won any matches was a Daglish signing (as was Henderson)
It was a shame they lost Martin Kelly who did look very decent for them before injury and although he`s green(as was carragher for a long time) Jon Flanagan is he going to get a chance? Actually flogging Agger to Brondby I dont think helped he couldve stayed to the end of this season.
See how much or how little they can get for Balotelli, Lambert, Borini, Coates, Aspas, Toure, Johnson, and go from there, that theyve Origi back from loan at Lille might be interesting

Well in Gerrard's last game at Anfield, Brendan Rodgers saw exactly what his team are currently lacking - a defence!! Palace outplayed Liverpool and looked like scoring every time they went forward, they are full of pace up front and the mediocre Liverpool defence couldn't cope with players runnng at them whether it was out wide or through the middle!!
Great occasion for Gerrard aside from the result, one of those rare breeds that stayed at his boyhood team throughout his career in England. This season has probably shown he is not effective enough for the prem but I am sure he will do well in the MLS. His biggest regret is not winning the title, maybe the move to Chelsea that was a possibility was his chance to get that title!!
Its also amazing that is is now 25 years since Liverpool last won the title!! I remember them giving Man Utd a lot of stick for going 26 years without a title, well they have one season left before they equal that feat, something I am sure MU fans are waiting for!!

I hated Liverpool but what a side! They`d sell Keegan and replace with Daglish when he retired they bought Beardsley, replaced Toshack with Johnson with then Rush with then Aldridge it was those clever buys that they did but the style of play didnt really change
Daglish was an idiot with money-apart from Suarez, 35m for Carroll 20m for Downing, 20m for Henderson to play on the wing, brought in Charlie Adam with both him and Gerrard wanting to play AM.
Rodgers has done no better, buying to get strength in depth it looks like spend for spends sake rather than he looks the part of the long term plan
Sell off what they can in summer and ideally i`d look at
Asmir Begovic-Lot more commanding than Mignolet, Brad Jones hardly shows `Strength in depth`, at 27 Begovic probably has his best years to come, this is a goalie who will save you points
Daryl Janmaat-a very decent full back playing in a very bad Newcastle team, one of the few lights in a very dark season
Theo Walcott- Wenger wont play him as a forward, I reckon with Sturridge they`d score for fun
Nenad Subotic-the talented Borussia Dortmund CB would add real qulaity to the faltering backline and calm whoever he`d be playing besides

Yes Liverpool had a knack of buying players and the seeing them shine!! Dalglish as you say just spent money for the sake of it and bought some dross, since then it hasn't changed with the exception of Suarez!!
