Pitching on Four Fronts

He had the right idea though. Piss poor tools to implement it at the time too, it has to be said, plus the unrelenting lack of understanding from the media driving the fans' discontent.

Later Scotland teams were reliant on the players he blooded at international level, even if they were ultimately unsuccessful. Who knows what MacBertie could have achieved if he was afforded some leeway by the rabid hound dogs of the headline-worshipping press and media.

Ally McCoist was warmly welcomed at the EGM today ... does anyone think he will be re-appointed as Manager ?

F*ck's sake! The exception that proves the rule. A cruel anomaly.

Or some such guff.

Here's proof of MacBerti's stunning prowess at spotting a right good player: A list of players - incomplete it seems - that he gave a first cap to:

1.Craig Gordon
2.Darren Fletcher
3.James McFadden
4.Gary Caldwell
5.Andy Webster
6.David McNamee
7.Peter Canero
8.Steven Thompson
9.Rab Douglas
10.Malky Mackay
11.Graeme Murty
12.Maurice Ross
13.Kevin McNaughton
14.Andy Gray
15.Warren Cummings
16.Derek McInnes
17.Robbie Stockdale
18.Paul Gallacher
19.Steven Crainey
20.Paul Devlin
21.Brian Kerr
22.Gareth Williams
23.Scott Dobie
24.Kevin Kyle
25.Jamie Smith
26.Russell Anderson
27.Ian Murray
28.Lee Wilkie
29.Graham Alexander
30.Garry O'Connor
31.Paul Gallagher
32.Richard Hughes
33.Lee McCulloch
34.Stephen Pearson
35.Nigel Quashie
36.Jamie McAllister
37.John Kennedy
38.Michael Stewart
39.David Marshall

F*ck me, I'm away to shoot myself in the face. Doh

Better f*cking not be.

I suspect McCoist will always be fondly welcomed at the club, he is after all a proper legendary player. As a manager he's been just awful. I'd have John Greig back as manager before him.

Two things Ally McCoist and Paul Lambert have in common :

1} Scottish
2} Criticised by Fans for being Clueless

Ally is a great bloke and was a great player, but he was not up to the job as a football manager.
His is another example of 'great players do not necessarily become great managers'.
So I say 'Thanks, but No Thanks.' to Ally McCoist.
