Well he won't be coming back after this one!!  His contract is up at the end of the season, so once he has done at Bolton its off to look for a new club for him!! Thumb up

So is Afobe.

Maybe we are losing brilliant players who have been woefully mismanaged.

I think Antonio's faired better due to being surrounded by players whom are better than our squad lets face it. Forest have under performed this season and we've over performed, though better management likely plays a part also.

Afobe's decent, seemed to play for us at a lacklustre time at the club.

Lets be right, we have had some good players over the past few years and still have a few now, but due to the lack of funds we have ended up surrounding them with average players. It wasn't long ago that Coke was just about our best attacking midfielder!! Thankfully we appear to now be in a position to not have to settle for any old player and an start to look for better quality.

I don't buy into your big kop argument though Imre, Afobe is playing in front of more at Wolves than he did with us and is scoring, but surprise, surprise they are playing him as a striker, not a winger!! Antonio too is now playing in front of larger crowds, but is I think their top scorer and top assist guy as well!! Too often SG plays players out of position, often because we do not have anyone better anyway and other times because he either has favorites who he plays or outcasts that he doesn't!! I firmly believe that SG is the problem with these players, but on the flip side he has been able to get the best out of our defence for much of this season, so he does have his good points. But to me he is a coach and not a manager, and that is what we need.

Not coke but Antonio & Afobe were mismanaged by SG and are doing great for Forest & Wolves.
If we had those two players in our side & they had scored & assisted the same for us the same as they have elsewhere, we would be top now.

Sad in a way that SG's legacy might be that he sold the most exciting & productive player that we have had for about a decade.

Afobe was given only two starts by SG & he played him on the wing.

No wonder Arsenal recalled him. SG struggles with creative players & would rather get rid of them than have to deal with them. He much prefers functional players like Nuhui.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

last season afobe had to displace Nuhiu who was scoring, Best who was scoring, Maguire who was scoring and obviously he couldn't do it so Arsenal sent him back to MK.
It's all well and good saying after the event we "should have done this" or "could have done that" but at the time he wasn't the right fit and ended up being pushed onto the wing just so he was playing which didn't benefit us or the player

Good point Thurny but with all these players scoring then why did we loan in a striker, play him on the wings and not loan in a proper fooking winger. Like you say he wasn't the right fit and it didn't benefit us or him and all that falls on whoever recruited him be it SG or PA which to me makes it look as if we didn't know what we were at (no plan) and them 2 fellas are still here !!!

Hopefully the new guy Dwhatshisface will sort this soon.
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, you need a team....

I really hope not, Chansiri has to see that with SG at the helm next season, we will be stifled for progress.

We definitely don't need SG in charge of a large budget, can he be trusted to splash out on the right players? or will he be mugged into taking some other clubs trash out for them?

I saw something on another forum showing how thread bare our back room team is, we have about 4/5 who are involved heavily day to day when most other teams have double that. We have Gray stretched across attacking coaching, defensive coaching, team management, scouting, fitness. Then there's Bullen who is head of the academy and assistant 1st team coach. It's all too stretched.

For me Gray can still work out provided we give him the support Milan promised him but never delivered on. First port of call should be a non hands on DoF then attacking coaches (to work on strikers positioning and wingers runs/crossing etc), defensive coaches to supplement Gray and fitness coaches. Gray can then take a step back and oversee things rather than having to carry it all out by himself.
