We played a team yesterday that will be in the PL next season and that has spent a lot of money, and we have our 4th and 5th choice CHs in defence!! Add to that their quality in front of goal, when ours was sadly absent yesterday. If you think that gulf in ability is irrelevant then fine.
Millwall get a late winner and move above us, Derby back down in the bottom three with Hull's win at Sunderland. The Mackems losing touch with the top 3, could they get dragged into the PO position battle as well?
Of course I think the gulf in talent matters. I had no expectations about taking points from Burnley with this squad. I think we'll receive the same treatment next Friday.
It's about more than just last night's showing. Too many of these players have repeatedly shown they struggle to execute the basics. They fold far too easily once we concede more than one. Burnley dont hand out thrashings and we flattered them.
I lost count of how many times a Wednesday stray pass went straight to a Burnley player. This happens every game.
Ball control, passing, movement, anticipation are at an academy level at times. The defending is comical. The finishing is severely bad. To continually be caught offside, especially from your own corner is dire..
I can see Coventry being a playoff dark horse.

Pierce Charles has the next 3 games not to pick up a yellow or he's suspended for 2 games which would obviously be a massive blow for the derby game ...will Danny chance him against Sunderland and if he gets a yellow he'll be back for the pig game ?
Norwich and Coventry winning we are joint 10th at the moment with 4 clubs above us on GD ...we now can't make the playoff position Friday which for me is a good thing as everytime we get near it we drop down the he table !
It would be nice to go into the last 2 games of the season with a chance but like Ive said the fans will expect too much from this shower of shit and there is no way we could compete with Sunderland or Burnley over 2 legs it would just be a waste of everyone's efforts !

Completely agree with that. Not arguing the lack of quality with some players and where we are is where we probably should be.
If Danny gave DC a list of targets then DC needed to get some in, but for whatever reason we didn't strengthen in the obvious positions in defence and to compound that we then lost Bernard for the rest of the season. Ihiekwe has done ok since coming in but he is a notch or two down from Bernard, Iorfa and Famewo, thankfully the latter two are back in training so hopefully we get them back soon. Not perfect, but better than what we have now.
The Japanese kid looked ok when he came on, put a couple of good crosses in.

You mean Shea Charles I assume??
Assuming Preston don't come back from 2-0 down at Coventry, 13th is as low as we can end up today!!

As Coventry climb the table. I expect to see them take 6th. The last PO position.

Forest concede 4 in 10 minutes against Newcastle.
Channeling their inner Wednesday.
There shouldn't be any playoff talk with this squad. It's just setting yourself up for disappointment.
Plenty of goals for the neutrals.
4-2

Been a cracking game, two sides who go for it. I will hazard a guess that this game will be better than the one coming up!!
