Wing-back Aaron Nemane has signed a new two-year contract with League Two newcomers Notts County.

The 25-year-old Frenchman scored three goals in 40 appearances last season as the Magpies won promotion from the National League via the play-offs.

The former Manchester City trainee moved to Meadow Lane in the summer of 2021 following a stint with Torquay.

A club statement said Notts County hope to give Nemane "the platform to realise his immense potential".

Wolves defender Ollie Tipton has joined Notts County on loan for the entire 2023-24 campaign.

The deal has been concluded following a pre-season trial at Meadow Lane.

Tipton has yet to play a first-team game for Wolves, but has made five EFL Trophy appearances for their under-21s.

"While we see him primarily as a central defender, his ability in possession means he's also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder," said a County statement.

"His versatility could prove crucial over the course of a long campaign and we look forward to seeing how he progresses in his time with us."

County begin the League Two season with an away game against Sutton United on 5 August.

Notts County defender Geraldo Bajrami is likely to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

He picked up the injury in their EFL Cup defeat by Lincoln City on Tuesday.

Bajrami, 23, played 31 league games last season as Notts won promotion back to the EFL from the National League.

"Our thoughts are with Geraldo following this devastating news," said head coach Luke Williams and the club's board of directors in a joint statement.

League Two side Notts County have signed defender Lewis Macari on loan from Stoke City until January.

The 21-year-old Potters youth product helped League of Ireland side Dundalk qualify for the Europa Conference League during a loan spell last season.

County's board said they had moved for Macari because of Geraldo Bajrami's season-ending knee injury.

"Although he spent most of his time at Dundalk as a full-back, he is more than comfortable at centre-back," they said.

"He possesses all the attributes we look for in someone who can play on the right of a back three."

Macari told Notts County's website: "I'm very happy to get it done - especially on deadline day. I'm buzzing to be here and can't wait to start playing in front of the fans."

The Scot's sole appearance for Stoke came as a substitute in the FA Cup last season.

League Two high-flyers Notts County have signed ex-Bournemouth midfielder Dan Gosling on a short-term deal.

The 33-year-old, who has featured in the Premier League for the Cherries, Newcastle and Everton, was a free agent after being released by Championship side Watford in July.

He moves to Notts on a deal until 6 January after Matt Palmer was ruled out for the rest of the season.

Notts say Gosling brings "experience and pedigree" to their promotion push.

"Throughout his career Dan has proven himself to be a hard-working, tenacious and highly accomplished midfielder at the top levels of the game and, equally importantly, he has brilliant leadership skills and a fantastic mentality," the club said in a statement.

Gosling joins a Notts side that are second in the table after 16 games

On-loan defender Lewis Macari has made his move to Notts County from Championship side Stoke City permanent.

The 21-year-old has made 10 appearances for Notts since arriving on loan in the summer, and has now signed a deal until the end of the 2026-27 season.

League Two side Notts initially signed Macari when Geraldo Bajrami suffered a season-ending knee injury.

"This club's on the up and I wanted to be someone who could help take it forward," Macari said.

Talking to BBC Radio Nottingham, the defender added: "I feel properly part of the team now and I'm really happy to be staying permanently.

"I'd been at Stoke a long time, and I can't thank everyone there enough for everything they've done for me, but the time has come to move away and take my first proper steps into men's football.

"I know I've got to kick on from here now."

The Scot, who is the grandson of former Manchester United midfielder and Stoke boss Lou Macari, made just one senior appearance for Stoke, which came in the FA Cup last season.

Notts County have signed Fulham goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old spent the first half of the season with Notts' League Two rivals Crawley, but was recalled early from his loan to join the Magpies.

He is the first player Notts have signed since Luke Williams left to take over as Swansea boss last week.

"I've known about Luca for a long time," Notts head of goalkeeping Tom Weal told the club website.

"Having had such a good grounding with Fulham and England, and with Crawley also playing a similar way to us, he's very familiar with what we would expect from a goalkeeper and I'm really looking forward to working with him."

Weal said Ashby-Hammond's addition will add competition for places, and allow 20-year-old Tiernan Brooks to once again go out on loan.

Jaden Warner is 6ft 4ins tall
Jaden Warner came through Norwich's academy and captained their age group teams
Notts County have signed defender Jaden Warner on loan from Norwich City for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old made his first-team debut for the Canaries in a 2-1 League Cup defeat by Fulham last September.

He has also started two Championship games for the club, the most recent a 3-2 win at Cardiff in November.

"Jaden's someone my management team and I have liked for a couple of years now," new head coach Stuart Maynard told the Notts website.

"He's got a bright future ahead of him and I think it's a really good signing for the club."

Maynard will take charge of the team for the first time in Saturday's home fixture against Barrow.

League Two promotion chasers Notts County have signed striker Alassana Jatta from Danish top-flight side Viborg for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old Gambian moves to Notts on a two-and-a-half-year deal from a club owners Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz also have a majority share in.

Jatta, who is 6ft 4in, has scored 21 goals in 103 appearances for Viborg.

Notts recruitment lead Richard Montague said Jatta will add "stature, pace and power" to the Magpies' front line.

Jatta joins a prolific Notts attack that already boasts League Two's leading scorer Macaulay Langstaff, who has hit the net 20 times in the fourth tier this term, and hugely experienced forward David McGoldrick, who has 11 league goals.

"We feel Alassana can make a quick adaptation to life at Meadow Lane and add fresh impetus to what is already a highly potent attack," Montague said.

Jatta's move is subject to international clearance, and the club say he will remain in Denmark until his UK visa is finalised.

Six players involved in Notts County's promotion from the National League in 2022-23 have been released by the League Two club.

Hugely experienced ex-Celtic midfielder Jim O'Brien, who was placed in interim charge along with first-team coaches Tom Weal and Joao Alves when former manager Luke Williams left for Swansea City in January, is leaving after more than five years.

Right-back Richard Brindley also joined the club in 2019, while midfielder John Bostock, whose former sides include Crystal Palace and Tottenham, will also not have his deal extended.

In an open message to fans on Sunday, Brindley said his "one objective" during his "memorable" time at the club had been to achieve promotion.

"There are some talented players and great people behind the scenes who I am grateful to have crossed paths with, winning many games and fighting for promotion," the 30-year-old added.

Defenders Aden Baldwin and Tobi Adebayo and 20-year-old forward Luther Munakandafa, who has been repeatedly loaned out since 2022, will be departing.

Goalkeeper Aidan Stone, defender Connell Rawlinson and winger Will Randall have been transfer-listed, but Geraldo Bajrami has been offered a new deal and Notts have taken up a one-year extension on Cedwyn Scott’s terms.

"We kind of know where we need to strengthen and what we need to bring in," Magpies manager Stuart Maynard told BBC Radio Nottingham after his side's closing 1-0 defeat at bottom side Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

"It's about identifying players and making sure we can be stronger defensively and combat the opposition."

Former Wealdstone boss Maynard has won five and lost 11 of his 19 games, guiding Notts to a 14th-placed finish.
