Hudlin scores. Too bloody late, Warnock!

Is it time to scrap the League Cup?

Second game of the season and we make 10 changes to the starting line up, although the 8k crowd was half decent for this stage of the cup it's clear that the club don't treat it as a first team fixture and as such neither do the majority of the supporters( me included). I mean you wouldn't pay £10 (£11.25 inc booking fee) to watch the B team any other week.

As for the game itself, we knew what was coming and got what we expected. Depending who you listen to/read up from then we were lucky to keep it at 3 and that most of the B-team have shown they aren't up to the job of playing in the championship.

I know we need a crowbar to wrestle open the coffers due to one thing or another but by eck we need some players through the door to improve this squad by the end of the month.  I'll be a free agent in September, they can sign me and that would be an improvement on one or two players Wink

I've been one for 3 years Wakey, where there's hope there's disappointment just round the corner.

Our defence seems to have developed the ability to suddenly don a cloak of invisibility

Kyle Hudlin scored and you want the entire competition scrapped? That's a miracle of roll-away-the-stone proportions. Check his hands and feet for stigmata.

It seems a pretty poor argument to me that you deliberately fcku-up a competition, because you know your team is currently pretty crap anyway, and then you blame the competition for existing ........ Hmmmmmm!

My own club have followed exactly the same policy with the FA Trophy. We disrespect the opposition, our supporters and make fools of ourselves by doing so. Losing games is never a good thing, and doing it deliberately undermines the whole concept of sport. Points should be deducted in a competition you and/or we care about - that would be if you had any of course. An evil daemon made me say that!

Look at all the teams that crashed out of the Carabao. Bet they're feeling good about themselves this morning. Getting beat happens often enough without helping it along the way.

And your new guy looks quite Frank Drebin. Well worth a welcome with open arms, surely? STOP CALLING ME SHIRLEY!

File yesterday with all those school reports saying, "Could do better!"

As far as our recent League Cup encounters go, last night was one of the best. We've lost to 4th tier teams over the last few years, so losing to a Championship team doesn't seem too bad.

We must have the worst record of all 92 teams in this competition.

Now if we just had someone on here with their finger on all those stats eh Snoots?

Unfortunately these stats don't include most defeats in R1 and pretty much only refer to Cup Final results

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EFL_Cup

You won't be surprised that a certain team doesn't get a mention.

We are aware of the racist abuse that has been directed toward Jaheim Headley on social media, and we stand with Jaheim in opposition to this.

If identified, the individuals in question will face the strongest possible action.

We're behind you, Jaheim ?

and people wonder why players take the knee. Too many halfwits out there and since covid they seem to have come to fore more and more

Halfwits is being generous Wakey. Collectively they don't have half a wit between them to be honest, let alone a full one. It appears that it's not just football clubs, but pubs, public transport, supermarkets, shops you name it, dickheads with no respect for anything or anyone are crawling out of the woodwork and are more important than anyone else in their over-inflated opinion.

I've been fortunate enough to avoid many of these pricks for the most part (for now) but boy did I see some nasty pieces of work in Morrisons and Asda when they were allowed out as families to buy everything they could shovel off the shelves into a trolley apiece when we were "locked down". They are still the same when you come across them. Have to wonder how much toilet roll they still have in their sheds.
