Lincoln City defender Regan Poole will leave the club when his contract expires next month.

The 24-year-old ex-Manchester United player, who had been offered new terms, made 56 appearances this season.

"He wants to explore options at a higher level and we fully respect that," said Lincoln director of football Jez George.

Fellow defender Max Sanders and midfielder Joe Walsh will not be offered new deals for next season.

Sanders, also 24, played 42 games in 2022-23 as Lincoln finished 11th in the League One table, while 30-year-old Walsh made 14 appearances.

"Both of them have been through difficult periods but have consistently demonstrated a strength of character and commitment to the cause," said George.

"Joe has repeatedly put his body on the line, notably in the League One play-off semi-final and final [in 2020-21], and Max showed his undoubted ability right up to his final appearance on Sunday."

Midfielder Hayden Cann has accepted a new contract with the club, but they are still awaiting a response over a new deal offered to Sean Roughan.

Lincoln City have signed midfielder Alistair Smith on a two-year contract after he rejected a new deal with Sutton United.

The 24-year-old made 38 appearances for Sutton last season, 35 of them in League Two, scoring five goals.

He will now step up a division as Lincoln's first signing of the summer.

"I can tell its a really close-knit group from top to bottom and it's somewhere that is the right place for me to progress," Smith said.

"I'm looking to show I'm capable of playing at this level. I'm here to help the team push on and have a successful season."

Head coach Mark Kennedy added: "He will bring a lot of qualities to the group, will complement our other midfielders and will add athleticism, physicality and goals to the team."

Lincoln finished 11th last season, 15 points outside the play-off places, but 17 clear of the bottom four.

Lincoln City have signed winger Reeco Hackett-Fairchild from Portsmouth on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old scored 11 goals in 79 game for Pompey after arriving from Bromley in 2020.

Hackett-Fairchild had a year remaining on his Portsmouth deal, but was allowed to leave after expressing a desire to seek more game time.

"He is a really talented, creative and exciting wide player," said Lincoln boss Mark Kennedy.

"We have worked on this signing for six months, so we are delighted to bring Reeco to the club."

Portsmouth boss John Mousinho said "it's a move that's beneficial for all parties".

"Reeco was looking for a bit more playing time, so we shook hands and agreed he could move elsewhere.

"He played an important role for us in the second half of last season and scored some goals. He did a decent job whenever he was called upon."

Hackett-Fairchild, who came though the academy at Dagenham & Redbridge and also previously played for Charlton and Southend, could earn his first international cap for Saint Lucia during the preliminary rounds of the upcoming Concacaf Gold Cup.

Lincoln City have signed goalkeeper Lukas Jensen on a two-year contract following his release by Burnley.

The 24-year-old Dane spent last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, making 35 appearances in all competitions.

Jensen, who is 6ft 6ins tall, joined Burnley from Helsingor in 2019, but did not play a senior game for the Clarets.

"I've been following the club in recent years and have seen loads of young keepers who have played lots of games," he told the Imps website.

Jensen is Lincoln's third summer signing following midfielder Alistair Smith and winger Reeco Hackett.

"He has the attributes that we look for in this position; he commands his penalty box, he's an excellent shot stopper, is aerially dominant and will be a presence in our goal," said head coach Mark Kennedy.

"He was our number one target for this position and I am sure he will really enjoy working closing with Scott Fry, our goalkeeping coach. This is another positive signing for us."

Lincoln City centre-back Sean Roughan has extended his contract until the summer of 2025.

The 20-year-old Republic of Ireland Under 21 player's contract expired this summer, but he has opted to stay at Sincil Bank, having made 52 appearances since his debut in September 2021.

He also had a spell on loan at Irish side Drogheda United last year.

"I'm very pleased to sign a new deal, to continue my journey here and develop further as a player," he said.

"The head coach and backroom put faith in me to play in 30 plus games last season, and I've only just turned 20, so still have time on my side - this is the best place to continue my development," he added to the club website.

Lincoln City have signed defender Jaden Brown from Sheffield Wednesday on a two-year contract.

The 24-year-old wing-back has spent the last two seasons with the Owls, making 32 appearances and scoring two goals.

Brown's last appearance was in the remarkable comeback from 4-0 down against Peterborough in the second leg of the League One play-off semi-final.

He was an unused substitute as the Owls beat Barnsley in the final at Wembley to seal promotion to the Championship.

"I'm excited to be here. I want to come here and make an impact - it's all about getting minutes at this stage in my career," Brown said.

"The players in that role who have been here over the past few years have done well and pushed on to the Championship, I'm here to elevate my game in the same way."

Brown is the Imps' fourth new signing of the summer following the arrivals of midfielder Alistair Smith from Sutton United, Portsmouth winger Reeco Hackett and ex-Burnley goalkeeper Lukas Jensen.

Lincoln City have signed Accrington Stanley midfielder Ethan Hamilton for an undisclosed fee.

The former Manchester United youth player is the Imps' fifth summer signing and joins the League One side on a three-year deal.

Hamilton, 24, scored 14 times in 87 games over two seasons at Stanley, after joining from Peterborough United.

"I'm over the moon, from the first interest it's something I've been really keen on," he said.

"From walking around the club it's clear to see that everyone here is hungry and wants to work hard, you can see that culture, and I think I'll fit into that.

"I've spoken with Lukas Jensen who I played with at Accrington and he was so complimentary about the club, which was important as well."

Imps boss Mark Kennedy said: "Ethan is a very good signing for us, who can cover a number of positions within our squad.

"He is a technical player, with good athleticism and is someone who will add goals to the team."

Striker Ben House has signed a new deal with Lincoln City to remain with the club until the summer of 2025.

House, 24, was the Imps' top scorer last season with 13 goals and was voted the players' player of the year.

He has made 50 appearances for the club since joining from National League side Eastleigh in January 2022.

"As last season progressed he showed why we brought him to the club and his potential to play higher," said Lincoln director of football Jez George.

Lincoln have completed the signing of Coventry full-back Jack Burroughs on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old made 14 appearances for the Sky Blues last season as his hometown club reached the Championship play-off final.

Burroughs said: "I'm at the stage of my career where I need to play games,

"It feels like a good place for me to come, show people what I can do and move forward in my career."

League One club Lincoln City have signed centre-back Alex Mitchell on a season-long long deal from Millwall.

Mitchell, 21, has made one senior appearance for the Lions and has spent most of the last three seasons out on loan with three different clubs.

After a spell with National League Bromley, he spent the 2021-22 season in League Two with Leyton Orient.

Last term he moved to St Johnstone and played 29 times in the Scottish Premiership.

He scored his first professional goal in a 2-1 defeat by Celtic in October.

"This is a great opportunity for me, I've had a nice trajectory with my loans with an increase in level each time which has really helped me and I can't wait to make the step up to League One," Mitchell told the Lincoln website.

Mitchell is the seventh summer signing by boss Mark Kennedy, whose side have taken four points from their opening three games of the new season.
