Club captain Richard Wood and Wes Harding are among four players released by Championship side Rotherham.
Wood, 37, ends a nine-year stay at New York Stadium, in which he made 256 appearances.
Manager Matt Taylor announced at the end of the season Wood would be released on the expiry of his current contract on 30 June.
Harding, 26, has been a regular for the Millers since joining in 2020 but will become a free agent.
Goalkeeper Robbie Hemfrey, 21, and 19-year-old midfielder Mackenzie Warne are also leaving.
Wood has captained the club to three promotions, including the 2021-22 season when they set new club records for clean sheets and an unbeaten run, as well as lifting the Papa Johns Trophy.
He is expected to look for a new club having told Rotherham he will continue his playing career.
The club has also announced that it will discuss new terms with five other players whose current contracts expire next month, including last season's nine-goal top scorer Chiedozie Ogbene.
Defenders Tyler Blackett, Sean Morrison and Lee Peltier, and goalkeeper Josh Vickers are also expected to hold talks about new deals.
The club has exercised options to extend the contracts of midfielder Ben Wiles and defender Shane Ferguson until 2024.
Loan players Conor Coventry, Tariqe Fosu, Domingos Quina, Leo Hjelde, Bailey Wright and Grant Hall will all return to their parent clubs.

Rotherham United defensive pair Sean Morrison and Lee Peltier have signed new one-year contracts with the Championship club.
Morrison, 32, extends his stay with the Millers after joining on a short-term deal in January last term.
Former Cardiff defender Peltier, 36, made 36 appearances after signing from Middlesbrough last summer.
The pair helped the club to retain their position in the Championship as they finished 19th in the table.
Morrison and Peltier previously played together at Cardiff, helping the club to automatic promotion to the Premier League in 2017-18.
Peltier went on to join West Bromwich Albion in 2020, but made just seven appearances before his move to the Riverside in the summer of 2021.
Meanwhile, Morrison joined the Millers after spending almost nine years with Cardiff and making 295 appearances for the Bluebirds.

Rotherham United have signed goalkeeper Dillon Phillips on a two-year deal, following his departure from fellow Championship side Cardiff City.
The 28-year-old Englishman left the Bluebirds at the end of the season and spent the previous campaign on loan to Belgian top-flight club KV Oostende.
Phillips has played 189 games since coming through at Charlton, and has also played for Cheltenham.
He will fill the gap left by Josh Vickers after his move to Derby.
It is the fifth signing of the summer for Rotherham boss Matt Taylor, after Lee Peltier, Sean Morrison, Tyler Blackett and Grant Hall agreed deals.

Championship side Rotherham have signed midfielder Cafu after his release from Nottingham Forest.
The 30-year-old joins the Millers on a one-year deal.
Cafu is a former Portugal Under-20 international and made one substitute Premier League appearance for Forest last season.
In all he played 73 times after moving to the City Ground from Olympiakos in 2021, including 14 in their promotion season of 2021-22.
Cafu was left out of Forest's 25-man league squad, making his only appearances of last season in August.
He came through the youth system at Benfica before joining Vitoria Guimaraes, and has since roamed Europe, playing for Lorient and Metz in France, and Legia Warsaw in Poland before joining Greek side Olympiakos in 2020.
Signed by Forest as a defensive midfielder, Cafu was converted to a more attacking role by then manager Chris Hughton, who signed him on a permanent deal after an initial loan spell.

Rotherham United have signed midfielder Christ Tiehi from Czech side Slovan Liberec for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old began his senior career with French side Le Harve and played in England in non-league before joining Czech side Opava during 2020.
He went on to Wigan Athletic on loan last season, making 19 Championship appearances for the club.
Tiehi, who joins for an unspecified "club record fee", arrives having been granted a UK work permit on Thursday.
His move to the New York Stadium is subject to EFL and FA ratification, as well as international clearance, with Rotherham saying there is a race against time for him to be granted clearance to feature against Sunderland this weekend.

Championship side Rotherham United have signed Exeter City forward Sam Nombe for an undisclosed club record fee on a four-year deal.
The 24-year-old scored 23 goals in 76 league appearances for the Grecians.
His move to South Yorkshire will see him reunite with boss Matt Taylor, who also signed him for Exeter.
"He'll improve our attacking options and I'm looking forward to working with Sam again," Taylor told the club website.
"He has pace and power, he's a 'Rotherham United' player who has scored goals consistently over the last few seasons."
Exeter to be shrewd with Nombe windfall - Caldwell
Exeter have made a fine start to the League One season and are second in the table after five matches.
Boss Gary Caldwell feels that the deal for Nombe to leave is the right one for all parties.
"Sam joined as the club's record signing in 2021 and has made a massive contribution to the club in his time here," he told the Devon club's website.
"It is in the best interest of the club that he moves for a substantial fee now, with less than a year left on his contract.
"There will be a replacement coming, but more importantly the transfer allows us to strengthen the squad overall and provide us with more depth."
Analysis
Brent Pilnick, BBC Sport
While Exeter are quite rightly known for their academy that has produced millions of pounds through the likes of Ollie Watkins and Ethan Ampadu, Sam Nombe represents the other way the club has done well.
He is the latest player Exeter have recruited, improved and sold on at a good profit - for Nombe you can also read Tim Dieng, Ryan Bowman, Jayden Stockley and David Wheeler.
Nombe's departure for a reported fee of about £1m - of which his former club Milton Keynes Dons will get a decent chunk, by way of a sell-on clause - will see Exeter earn well over £2m in transfer fees this summer.
Academy products Archie Collins and Josh Key's departures for decent six-figure fees were topped up by about £1m from Ampadu's sell-on clause, after he joined Leeds from Chelsea.
While Exeter fans will doubtless be sad to see Nombe leave, he does so having elevated his reputation as a fearsome League One striker, and swelled the fan-owned club's coffers.
