Notts County have offered new contracts to Sam Slocombe, Connell Rawlinson and Jim O'Brien and want to sign Jodi Jones on a permanent basis.

Slocombe, Rawlinson and O'Brien are out of contract along with Kyle Cameron, Aaron Nemane and Ruben Rodrigues, who have also been offered new deals.

But Ed Francis, Frank Vincent and Kairo Mitchell have been released.

The Magpies were promoted back to the English Football League via the National League play-offs on Saturday.

Winger Jones was on loan at Meadow Lane during the second half of the season and has been released by Oxford United.

He scored a last-gasp winner in the play-off semi-final against Boreham Wood as Luke Williams' side came back from 2-0 down to reach the promotion final at Wembley, where they beat Chesterfield on penalties after again being behind.

Boss Williams told the club website: "I'm delighted that we have offered new contracts to Sam, Connell and Jim - all experienced campaigners whose immeasurable contributions aren't completely visible from the stands.

"We would also love to keep Kyle, Aaron, Ruben and Jodi, who have all experienced five seasons' worth of drama in the space of one campaign.

"We're aiming to retain a core of players who have been through the challenges we have faced together and understand the expectations of playing for this club."

Notts County have signed winger Jodi Jones on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old helped Notts secure promotion to League Two, scoring the winning extra-time goal in their National League semi-final, while on loan from Oxford United

He was released by the U's before the Magpies' promotion final win against Chesterfield at Wembley.

"He embodies the type of player and person we want to have at the club," Notts said in a statement.

"His football fanaticism is so apparent in his distinctive playing style and how hard he works for the team."

Jones' 120th-minute winner against Boreham Wood at Meadow Lane in their play-off eliminator was the former Coventry City winger's only goal of the season.

He came off the bench in the promotion showdown and scored in the penalty shootout that ended County's four-year non-league exile.

Notts County defender Connell Rawlinson has signed a new two-year deal after the club's promotion to League Two.

The 31-year-old started in Notts' National League promotion final win against Chesterfield earlier in May.

He has played 123 league games for County since joining them after their relegation from the English Football League in 2019.

"He was a key player for us in what proved to be one of the best seasons in our recent history," the club said.

"Away from the field, we believe Connell's excellent relationship with our supporters and deeply engrained understanding of the club and its culture are extremely valuable."

Rawlinson last played in League Two in 2019 when with Port Vale.

Notts County goalkeeper Sam Slocombe has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The 34-year-old joined Notts following their relegation from League Two in 2019 and has made 132 National League appearance appearances for the club.

He started in County's promotion final win against Chesterfield, but was substituted a minute before it went to a penalty shootout.

Notts also say they intend to recruit "a new, senior" keeper in the summer.

The League Two-bound club stress that Slocombe remains "a valuable asset" both on and off the pitch, and described him as "one of the best professionals you could ever wish to have in your squad".

"We see this as an important element of our long-term squad development and Sam fully understands our position," the club continued in a statement.

"We know he will continue to drive high standards from those around him and provide extremely tough competition for a place in our starting line-up."

Notts County have continued shaping their squad ahead of their long-awaited return to the English Football League with the signing of winger Will Randall on a two-year contract.

Randall, 26, joins County from Sutton United, where he helped the club win the National League title in 2020-21.

He started his career with Swindon before joining Wolves in 2016.

Randall then moved to Sutton in 2019 after loan spells with Walsall, Forest Green and in Spain with FC Jumilla.

How Notts County regained their 'badge of honour'
Since clinching promotion to League Two for next season via their dramatic National League play-off final win, County have made Jodi Jones' loan from Oxford United permanent and have handed new two-year contracts to goalkeeper Sam Slocombe and defender Connell Rawlinson.

Notts County have re-signed striker David McGoldrick on a two-year deal almost 20 years after he left the club.

The 35-year-old came through the Magpies' academy but left shortly after his debut in 2004 to join Southampton.

McGoldrick most recently played for Derby County in League One, scoring 25 goals in 45 appearances, but he turned down the offer of a new contract.

"As you would expect, David hasn't made this decision for financial reasons," Notts County said in a statement.

"He joins us on the back of his best-ever goalscoring season, but anyone who's followed his career knows his talents extend far beyond his ability in front of goal."

McGoldrick scored three hat-tricks for Derby during the course of last season.

However, they missed out on a play-off spot on the final day of the campaign.

Prior to joining the Rams, the Republic of Ireland international had spells with Nottingham Forest, Ipswich and Sheffield United, the latter of which he helped to promotion to the Premier League in 2018-19.

"He's been a leader and top professional at several big clubs, including recently in the Premier League with Sheffield United, and we believe his know-how and willingness to impart knowledge on to younger players will be invaluable," the club added.

Notts County's longest-serving player, Jim O'Brien, has accepted the club's offer of a new one-year deal.

The 35-year-old made 28 appearances last season as County regained their English Football League status.

He was an unused substitute at Wembley as they beat Chesterfield on penalties in the National League promotion final.

"As he demonstrated last season and in previous campaigns, he has so much to offer with his quality, mentality and tenacity," said boss Luke Williams.

"Having made nearly 550 career appearances, he also has vast experience to share with the group - a role we know he embraces."

O'Brien began his career at Celtic and later had spells at Motherwell, Barnsley, Coventry, Ross County, Shrewsbury and Bradford before joining Notts in January 2019.

News of his contract comes after Notts forward Ruben Rodrigues turned down a new deal to remain at Meadow Lane, instead joining League One side Oxford earlier on Tuesday.

Notts County captain Kyle Cameron has signed a new two-year contract with the newly promoted League Two club.

The 26-year-old's new deal comes a month after he led the Magpies in their National League promotion final win against Chesterfield at Wembley.

He has made 76 appearances for Notts since moving to Meadow Lane in the summer of 2021.

"Kyle has been a crucial figure for the club since his arrival two years ago," Notts said in a statement.

"Not only has he had a vital role as captain, but he's also pivotal to how we play.

"Kyle has a very unique skillset as a left-sided centre-back, being so comfortable on the ball, confident in progressing the play and consistent in delivering dangerous crosses into the box.

Cameron moved to Notts after leaving Torquay and has previously played for York, had a stint in Scotland for Queen of the South and featured for Welsh side Newport while on loan from Newcastle.

Notts County have signed midfielder Dan Crowley on a two-year deal after he was released by Morecambe.

The 25-year-old, who spent time at Aston Villa and Arsenal as a youth player, scored two goals in 21 games for the Shrimps as they were relegated from League One last season.

He also previously played for Hull, Birmingham and Cheltenham in between spells with Dutch side Willem II.

"Dan has tremendous experience," Notts said in a statement.

"As you might expect given his excellent pedigree, Dan has phenomenal technical ability which we believe can be deployed in deep and advanced midfield roles.

"He's also very comfortable drifting into wider positions."

Crowley joins the newly promoted League Two side a week after influential Portuguese attacker Ruben Rodrigues joined League One club Oxford United.

Notts County have signed goalkeeper Aidan Stone from Port Vale on a two-year contract.

Stone, 23, made 54 appearances for the Valiants and helped them to promotion from League Two in the 2021-22 season, starting in their play-off final win against his former side Mansfield.

He has been allowed to move on a free transfer after Port Vale signed Connor Ripley from Morecambe.

"He arrives with a point to prove," Notts said in a statement.

"We're very confident he'll do just that."

"Competing with Sam Slocombe, this is now his opportunity to cement his position as a first-choice goalkeeper at a club which we believe is an excellent fit for him."

Stone will be Notts' number one on their return to the English Football League.

Slocombe was their first-choice keeper as they won promotion from the National League last season and he signed a new contract in May, but did so knowing the club intended to recruit "a new, senior" keeper in the summer.

Port Vale director of football David Flitcroft said the move is "ultimately what is best" for Stone as he looks to "fulfil his desire to compete for first-team football".
