Jack O'Connell, Enda Stevens and Kyron Gordon will also depart, while Ismaila Coulibaly, Wes Foderingham, Oliver McBurnie and Oliver Norwood will all stay after their deals were extended.

Sheffield United will start with a two-point deduction the next time they play in the Championship, following a ruling by the EFL.

The Blades broke EFL rules by defaulting on payments to other clubs during their 2022-23 promotion season.

As well as the initial deduction, the Premier League's bottom club have been handed a further two-point suspension.

The club said it was "disappointed" but will not appeal against the decision.

Instead, Sheffield United added that it "took the view that it was better to reach an agreement which minimised the risks of a higher deduction or further transfer embargoes being imposed, and being distracted by lengthy and costly legal proceedings.

"The club is now in a position to close this matter and concentrate on the future.".

The Blades' sanction, which begins from the start of the next season they are in the Championship, includes paying the EFL's legal costs of £310,455.

The deferred payments, which were cumulatively in excess of 550 days, came during a campaign in which the club was managed by Paul Heckingbottom and finished runners-up to Burnley.

The Blades, now led by Chris Wilder, are bottom of the Premier League and nine points adrift of safety with seven matches left.

The EFL said the suspended points deduction will be activated if the club defaults on any further payments in excess of five business days from the due date of the agreement.

In other Blunts news it’s been reported by Kieran Maguire that they have taken out two loans against their future parachute payments. There is talk of an American consortium looking to take them over but if that was going through why would the Bog Roll Saudi Prince be borrowing every penny of money the club will get from the PL??

Sheffield United have signed midfielder Callum O'Hare on a four-year contract with the option of an additional year.

The 26-year-old left Coventry City after the conclusion of his contract, having first joined the Sky Blues on loan in August 2019.

After missing the first part of last season because of injury, he helped the Championship side reach the FA Cup semi-finals, where they lost a thrilling encounter with Manchester United at Wembley.

"I am buzzing to be here," he said.

"It is a big club; I had some interest from some other teams and other leagues but I just thought that this was the right step in my career so I can't wait to go out there now and play."

O'Hare scored 22 goals across his 182 games in all competitions for the Sky Blues.

He joins Kieffer Moore at United, who signed from Bournemouth on Monday.

Sheffield United have signed Wales striker Kieffer Moore for an undisclosed fee from Bournemouth on a three-year deal.

The 31-year-old spent the latter half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town and played a role in their promotion to the Premier League, scoring seven goals in his 18 Championship games for the club.

He was also part of the Bournemouth side that achieved promotion in 2022.

"Everything fits perfectly in what I want from a club and their ambition matches mine," Moore told the Blades' website, external.

"When you get a chance to join a great club like this, you always want to take that opportunity."

The Welsh international brings a wealth of experience to the Blades, with a total of 104 goals across the top three tiers of the English Football League.

Sheffield United have made their fifth signing of the summer by completing a deal for Peterborough captain Harrison Burrows.

The 22-year-old, who can play on the left of defence or midfield, had been with Posh since the age of six and scored both goals in their EFL Trophy final victory against Wycombe last season.

Burrows made 185 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 20 goals, and also helped them win promotion to the Championship in 2021.

He follows Jamie Shackleton, Sam McCallum, Kieffer Moore and Callum O’Hare in joining Chris Wilder’s side since their relegation from the Premier League last season.

“It’s time to step up. I’m relishing another chance in the Championship,” Burrows told Sheffield United’s website, external.

“The size of the club speaks for itself – the manager and the players that’s already come in this summer, it was a given for me really.

“The manager has told me what he wants from me and I’m excited by the type of games that I’ll be playing in.”

The Blades said he had signed for an undisclosed fee and agreed a contract at Bramall Lane until 2028.

Sheffield United have signed Australia defender Harry Souttar on a season-long loan from Leicester City.

The 25-year-old has arrived in time for Friday's Championship season opener away to Preston North End.

He joined Leicester for a reported £15m in January 2023, signing a five-and-a-half-year contract, but has only made 16 appearances for the Foxes so far.

"Getting someone of Harry's calibre and experience is a huge plus, and he'll add some steel to our defensive unit," said United boss Chris Wilder.

"His height and power are exactly what we've been looking for since we lost a couple of experienced heads, but with the loan market we have had to bide our time a little in order to get him here."

Souttar was born in Scotland and began his career at Dundee United before moving to Stoke City, where he played 71 games between 2017 and January 2023.

He switched international allegiances to Australia in 2019 and two years ago was in their squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

"I spoke to the gaffer a few times, but he didn't have to sell the club to me at all," Souttar said.

"I've known some of the lads here and know about the club's ethos and vision. I feel this will be a great partnership at this stage of my career and I am raring to go."

He is United's fifth signing since their relegation from the Premier League, following Jamie Shackleton, Sam McCallum, Kieffer Moore, Callum O’Hare and Harrison Burrows.

Sheffield United have signed Chelsea full-back Alfie Gilchrist on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old made his Blues debut against Crystal Palace in the Premier League in December last year and went on to make 17 appearances in all competitions.

He could feature for the Blades in their Championship season-opener at Preston on Friday.

"Alfie was always one of the players who featured high on our wanted list," boss Chris Wilder told the club website, external.

"Everyone in the game is aware of Alfie and his abilities, so our pitch to him, and Chelsea, had to be spot on.

"There's been a lot of work behind the scenes to get this deal through, and we're looking forward to working with a really talented player."

Gilchrist is the second player to join United this week after Leicester defender Harry Souttar signed on a season-long loan on Tuesday.
