European Union Referendum - In or Out??
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/other/de...3239&ei=25

More and more critics like Michael O'Leary really need to step forward and slam into the "political conspiracy of silence" in this country re Brexit's utter failure and the fact the whole process should actually be reversed asap i.e. a referendum where the people will resoundingly demand a return to the EU!

Had my phone for several years and lately the battery has been playing up. Now I really like this phone, probably the best one I've owned and decided to see if I could get a replacement battery and the answer was yes, I found a replacement battery online for just £12 which is a bargain but the bad news is the company which sells the battery is in the EU and the shipping cost was in the region of £30. Now thats £42 and that is roughly half the price of a brand new phone. So going to stick with it as long as I can and then buy a new phone.

When I've bought things online via Amazon in the past, I've noticed a lot of products come from European companies and countries. If shipping costs more than an actual product then people won't pay the price. I read somewhere car parts are another thing which could be hit due to shipping costs especially as Britain's a big consumers of European car manufacturing.

I just came across this fiery altercation by pure chance last night and must say I'm not an Alistair Campbell fan, but very impressed by him "calling it as it is". Just like many other delusional Brexit chancers before her, this woman was allowed to spout off a lotta crap re what was expected of Brexit and her bogus view of where it went wrong - as Campbell intimated in different words - "You can't fix the unfixable". I don't blame him for "losing the rag" and challenging the usual sycophantic BBC presenter in allowing this rubbish to be spouted by another self-programmed Brexit idiot, Alex Philips this time, and been doing it for years in trying to normalise Brexit as though all will become better in the end!!!??? Campbell spot on in pointing out the mass failures of Brexit, businesses being messed about, lotsa people being pissed about in different ways and Johnson's so called "over-ready deal" was nothing more than a political scam full of lies and deceptions. You know what action will follow from the BBC - they won't allow Campbell on their gigs for a long time.

And the arch Brexit fascist/liar himself, Farage, predictably demanding what I said in my last line - a case of suppress all criticism that threatens the "conspiracy of silence" that is clearly going on with Tories, Labour and Starmer and complicit media/press all "at it" - absolutely sickening watching this continuous upholding of the lie/the con that is Brexit with a big chunk of the UK population now opposed to it and even larger in Scotland btw, reckoned to be between 75%-80% of Scots "seeing the light" and through the con that is Brexit, an absolute scandal!!!!

I was never a supporter of Brexit and I work for a company that is 80% export so we have really seen some of the issues with it. But that vote was in 2016, so 7 years ago now, its time for us all to move on. I am not saying it should be forgotten but from a political point of view its pointless going back and continually trying to prove that something is the fault of Brexit and that those who voted for it are to blame.

Just over 50% voted for it, continually telling them they were wrong doesn't make any sense and just sees heels dug in on the whole topic. If as you say a lot of them now see the error of their ways, lets not rub their noses in that. I think the politicians need to focus on what we are going to do going forward, how do we deal with being outside the EU, how do we get a trade deal with countries, how do we invest in British manufacturing job?? Get some forward thinking policies out there and then we can maybe begin to see some improvement and maybe at some point in the future we can return to the whole EU subject and decide what to do then.

Continually harping on about something that happened 7 years ago, however flawed it was, is not going to achieve anything. In fact to me on the outside it reminds me of Trumps constant harping on about the 2020 election and how it was stolen from him, even a lot of Republicans who somewhat backed that are vocally against rehashing it all the time. Let's move the country forward, not look back.

For starters, I strongly believe the Brexit campaign/vote was absolutely unlawful and it still hasn't been fully investigated properly although there are still some investigative journos doing it. In other words, the perpetrators are being allowed to get away with a fraud and total deception - totally undemocratic!! There are scores of independent, non-political fiscal and academic investigative papers (remember the brief comment/warning of the then Bank of England governor!) telling us that Brexit will not work economically and these warnings were issued well before and after Brexit was shamelessly passed. I don't buy this idea that we all move on and we can trade so easily and progress to a blissful economic prosperity as though nothing has happened!! It is not gonna happen!! There are millions n millions of people in this country who also realise this as fact and are starting to recognise this "conspiracy of silence". As you say yourself - of course this fraud should not be forgotten and that is exactly what a frustrated Alistair Campbell was emphasising. Even the "just over 50% winning vote" factor has always been strongly debated and questioned re such an important vote - the usual FPTP philosophy being applied in one of the few countries in Europe that actually still run elections in this fashion because it suits that backward two-party political set up that both Labour and Tory preach about and want to prevail. I could go on and on - there is so much "ammunition" to fire at the fraud that was Brexit - note a lotta good info in this particular huge Sb OP. And the Scottish perspective???? I'm not even gonna go there apart from saying it was a shameless betrayal by Unionist politicians who have been exposed as liars - a betrayal of the highest order and not forgotten by millions n millions of Scots who never voted for it, still had it "shoved down our throats" and the numbers opposed to it have been increased by about another 25% while NI trade is recognised differently in this fractured Union of unequal partners - fact!!

0762, you keep proving my point!! Constantly harping on about it achieves nothing, we need to get on running the country as best we can. I get that Brexit has hurt the country but in reality it won't kill it, we have to do the best job we can. As and when we can demonstrably show what damage has been done and what has been done to try to fix it maybe then the debate can turn to should we try to re-join the EU. I'm not saying it shouldn't be investigated or looked into, I am saying politicians wasting their time on is also affect the country as a whole, let them get on with their jobs within the constraints that Brexit will cause. This Tory government is doomed whenever the next election happens, lets give the new Government whoever it may be the room to govern and not get embroiled in a debate about something that was wrong but is now done.

I don't see why those opposed to Brexit should keep quiet, those of us who are pro Europe had to endure xxxx years of preposterous lies and distortions from those hellbent on leaving the EU in the press, in parliament and all over social media.

If the governor of the bank of england can say this is a disaster and a "self inflicted wound" i don't see why we can't. Don't think for a second that business leaders and both sides of UK politics aren't meeting privately to find a way to row back on this bullshit.

Brexit has lost us all the big foreign firms that once used the UK as a base inside the single market and killed investment and exports. It's not a situation that can be fixed. We have made ourselves demonstrably poorer and weaker for xxxx all.

Not once did I say people had to keep quiet, I am referring to politicians who constantly get trotted out and asked about it in the expectation that they will breakdown and cry because it wasn't the right result and I stated this was from a political point of view. The latest one being Farage as referenced in the post I was responding to, he is never going to admit it was wrong, whats the point in going on about it? Politicians from both sides of the vote need to get on with it, rather than constantly harping back to a flawed vote and dreadful decision.

The worst thing we could see at the next election is for it to once again be all about Brexit, it needs to be about the UK, how the country moves forward, policies to achieve things rather than constantly throwing stones at people or politicians who voted for it.

Well then i've no idea what you are on about SCO.

Brexit only really returns to the media spotlight when there’s not much else to report on. It was in oblivion when the pandemic came, then the constant stream of Boris Johnson scandals, during the excruciating contest for the next Tory leader, and of course the carcrash that was Truss.

From Labour shortages to empty shelves; enormous queues at ferry ports to higher inflation rates than any country in the G7; the abolition of the Erasmus programme ( a particular bugbear of mine) to hundreds of billions lost to the country.... Yeah i want to see politicians of all colours trotted out and confronted with this shit sandwich whenever they can be instead of it being buried.

The next election won't be about Brexit ffs, don't be daft. Even Starmer doesn't want to talk about it when its impact present an open goal for him, just in case it upsets the eejits in swing seats that voted for it. If it wasn't for FPTP i reckon he would be singing a different song.
