Scotland v Spain, Tues 28 March

Che Adams is out injured for this Euro quali match. Lawrence Shankland called up as his immediate replacement. Spain opened up their quali campaign in Malaga with a 3-0 win v Norway. This will likely be a tough challenge v a Spanish international side that is clearly "in transition" after their World Cup failure in Qatar. And I must say they didn't look too secure defensively, but Norway not able to capitalise - some good scoring opps created, no takers and Haaland unfortunately missing due to injury. I expect Ryan Porteous to be "given the nod" in defence by Steve Clarke after a vg performance v Cyprus. Angus Gunn not really tested v Cyprus TBH! I suspect this upcoming fixture will certainly test out his goalkeeping capabilities to the limit. No doubt, Spain will be the favs to win this game although I think we have a chance to get a positive result with an all round team display. C'mon Scotland!

As an Englishman and England supporter home and away can I just say...

Well done Scotland, You took your chances when they came along and you defended for your lives. A magnificent win despite the fact the ref was falling for all the spanish tricks in the book. Some absolutely disgraceful behaviour from Spain's number 3 in the first half but I think that helped the crowd get behind the team even more.
Once again well done and I look forward to our visit in September

Scotland registering a famous 2-0 win v Spain and max pts registered in group A while Norway dropping another 2 pts in Georgia. All looking good for Scotland so far. And another McTominay double to boot!! He has quadrupled his total number of Scotland goals since coming on v Cyprus on Saturday afternoon - well done that man!! Still a lotta work to do and games to play, but long may this form continue from players, many of whom play/compete at a decent level of footie and look like they really are beginning to "gel" together.
