In the grand scheme of things I have no problem with Gary Lineker expressing his opinion. He has a right to freedom of speech even if IMO it's an insulated crock of sh'it Thumb up It's just a shame the rest of us don't have that same freedom and insulation if what we say goes against the mantra Doh I hope he'll back me up when I disagree with him on some issues Whistle

In the good old days it was called arguing the toss (sometimes mass debating Whistle ) now it's virtually a criminal offence to voice your thoughts and opinions. All those Orwellian theories and 80's films are now becoming reality. We're a long way down a very, very slippery slope.

Silence is golden, but my eyes can see Cool

Exactly, Maddix.. There's no debate, you get told and that's it. Any further opinion is projected back on you as 'bigotry'

Gary is absolutely entitled to think and say his thoughts without being policed.
When he verbalises his thoughts using his professional capacity and platform he's well aware of what he's doing, they all do
They've all stayed far away from politics to protect their professional (comfortable lifestyle) integrity.
They've watched the Serf go under as we screamed for help because there were no butt pats in it.
Now though, for Gary and his poorly informed and skewed perspective on real immigration issues, they're ready to take a stand? Portraying this fool like some sort of martyr?

When we (the underprivileged) speak about immigration issues. We really mean those illegally climbing into to backs of lorries in Calais, the large numbers of young Muslim males that have ceaselessly arrived from various Countries in the last few decades, all claiming to be from other countries and just simply vanishing into the communities in which whitey isn't allowed to go.
The grooming and violent gangs, the endless harassment. The refusal to integrate, the seizure of resources. The resentment of the indigenous. Massive cultural incompatibilities
On and fking on....

When Gary the tw@ speaks about immigration issues, he means the miniscule percentage of asylum seekers whom genuinely need help.
It is a disproportionately smaller number to those who are a real problem (above) and the continual blurring and obfuscation of this fact is deliberate.
It continues to portray the average serf as a racist, nationalist 'xxxx' to create resentment and division amongst us.
Most people do not see asylum seekers as a problem. It's pretending that there isn't a problem with economic migration or Islamic communities that blocks any debate or progress on the issue, we are not allowed to go down that road.
Largely because you do not criticise Islam. We know what happens when you publicly try to do so.
It will riot and the authorities are a lot more scared of their fatwas than the spineless serf.
I can happily debate the follies and evils of heterodox Islam all day it's piss easy once you've experience and education with it.

And that's one of the problems we have with Immigration. We don't get to have a clear discussion about the real problems.
Gary does nothing to help, he only stokes the flames with inflammatory comments.
So whilst he absolutely has a right to say what he said.
He also has a right to suffer the consequences of it. To make this prick a martyr after all the facts.
I hope he and his friends enjoy the hill they choose to die on.
They never stood up for you and me or the majority that suffer here or anywhere, but to choose a small demographic of people simply to get your ass patted when you know it violates the terms of your contract?
Can fk right off.....

The silly man says he can't talk now but it'll all be resolved in the next day Laugh
Oh to live in Gary's bubble.

He's been a fantastic distraction for Boris' announced earnings of over 3.5M. which is remarkably well done of him considering his salary was 90k per year.
Fk me, all they need to do is follow the money.
They're incredibly diligent when they think the Serf isn't declaring that 100 quid in his pocket.

This is why Gary and his selective outrage is part of the problem. He's still just a xxxx towing the line. The man's stupidity and hypocrisy whilst making that smug expression is grating when you can see the big picture.
He poured fuel on the fire, fked off to his gated community (still getting paid) and he'll be back in his chair next week like nothing happened.

The public are mugs for defending him. They're the ones that won't be allowed to strike or protest by the end of this year.
They've completely fallen for the divisive government rhetoric yet again.
How can they have forgotten Brexit was supposed to give them alleged control of the borders? Tories said one thing and did another, which is exactly what they're doing now with "Stop the boats" nothing is going to be done about any of it and people keep falling for it.

Nice one though, Gary. What a fking Champion of the people.
Nowhere to be seen when Tory policy killed thousands of sick, elderly and disabled people.
They even knighted Ian Duncan Smith for it...
But for 'language' he draws the line?
Fk this man honestly he can say what he likes but where he draws a line in the moral sand shows he's a xxxx

And the Beebs just announced Gary will be back in his chair come Saturday (surprise) and they'll have an independent review of themselves with regards to social media usage...

Not surprised by that article in the slightest. Something so many of us have tried to convey to those incapable of critical thinking.
A truth that will make a lot of enablers very uncomfortable...

But there's always good ole denial! Just label the paper and journalist as 'German sympathiser' Laugh

Police can't, won't and daren't do anything about it. Look at Rotherham for a start, it's covered up and enabled.

It's that conversation that you aren't allowed to have or most are too scared too. It's happening all over the country these are not isolated incidents.
Decades of it swept under the rug.
Gary wants more of it by blindly enabling. The man's hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Imagine having a whimper about Gays mistreatment in Qatar then enable the very same hostile belief system in your own country!? After taking the money of course!!

Fk this guy for real

Just got back from the UK after spending a week watching all this Lineker stuff play out and I have decided that the vast majority of Brits are so mentally confused when it comes to issues. I haven't spent anytime reading what he wrote or spending much time reading what the new immigration policy means but I did spend the week defending him, not for his views but for his right to have those views. The BBC tried to silence him at the behest of the Tory party and the ex-Tories who now run the Beeb, one MP was even asked what he would have said had Lineker tweeted that he agreed with the policy and he said he would have said nothing and that would have been the Labour Party's problem - that says it all for me!! This wasn't about the fact he said something, it's about the fact he said something against the Tories and they didn't like it!!

We have the right to free speech, irrespective of what side you take on any issue and the BBC are trying to stop freelance staff having anything but a RW view.

I know people who are fervent Brexiteers who instead of using critical thinking, go after Lineker instead of questioning the Tory party as to why after 6 years of being out we still don't control immigration like the leave campaign said we would? That in itself was a blatant and proven lie, we have always controlled our own immigration and yet neither of the two main parties have ever really done anything about it. Where is the criticism of other EU countries who let these people waltz through their country knowing full well they are heading for Calais?

Where are the protests about the 350m pounds per week that was supposed to go back into the NHS once we are out of the EU?? The NHS is a mess, Covid for sure didn't help but the Tories again don't give a crap about it and the more it fails the easier it will be for them to turn it into a US style system. Trust me you do not want that unless you are loaded!!

The UK's inflation is higher than every other Western economy and the growth in the economy is at the bottom!! Why are people still not realising that this is the effect of Brexit that was plastered over by the Covid pandemic? Just about every claim that the leave campaign put out there has been debunked or proven to be an outright lie, yet the RW press and the Beeb don't seem to report on that, in fact I think I see more of that news over here!!

I heard some people blaming the Labour party for the current mess the country is experiencing, yet they haven't been in power for nearly 13 years!! Someone suggested that this was all Tony Blair's fault, yet its been 16 years since he was PM. Its like when Labour supporters still blame Margaret Thatcher for something happening today when there have been a ton of left and right wing governments who could have put things right but chose not to!!

I don't understand why the Tories are not hammered for most of their policies that clearly are designed to shaft the average person to make them and their cronies richer. I don't understand why the Labour party are not shouting from the rooftops about these measures, where is the opposition to the shit the UK is in??

All this focus on immigration when in reality its a fairly minor thing compared to inflation, the economy, interest rates and the energy crisis, but yet again the extreme RW seem to be driving the message on immigration, is this deliberate to take the focus off a country in the shitter who cannot even buy tomatoes at the moment!!

To me this is just a mirror image of the RW Trump tactics over here we had to put up with!! Lets build a wall to keep them out, yet in reality there is already one along the whole length of the border, in the meantime lets pass new tax reductions on those at the top of the earning tree while maintaining a $7.25 minimum wage in 23 states and start an immigration war so no one notices!! Old style Conservatives have gone, they have been replaced by RW fanatics who don't give a crap about you or I, they make Thatcher look like a socialist and people are still backing them!!

Well put Chaz but I would have said old style politicians have gone, not just Tories. The Labour and Liberals parties would shaft us just as much. It really is hard to vote either way as 99% of MP's are in it for themselves and you basically have to choose who you think will shaft you the least.
