I have a long standing mate that I fell out with over the Summer over exactly this kind of shenanigans. He can't see how anyone in the UK can set up a business and park profits and shares off-shore and then not pay UK tax on any of it. Hopefully the scales are starting to fall off his Tory voting eyes. For a guy who is normally very bright he's very dim when it comes to voting. Him and few 10's of millions like him unfortunately.

This particular voting culture has been "scary" for years Theo and it still exists - a huge threat to any kinda progressive politics in this country.

I think this wee gimp of a PM has been 'at it' with his tax affairs too.

Him and his missus were gaming the system for all it was worth, but rich folk pay good accountants to exploit the loopholes that the Tories put into the "system to minimise" their taxes. The accountants fees are paid for multiple times over by the "tax they save", which means we little people pay more than we should and/or there's less available for supporting social issues (health, care, transport, infrastructure, housing etc).

Just another example of the horrible, immoral people who infest the Tory Party AKA the selfish, greedy, callous bastards' party.

His parents, if they are still around, must be so proud of they way they brought him up, or spinning in their graves if they aren't.

Oafs like him seem to think everyone has lived the same privileged life as them, and have no genuine reason to come here to dodge the bombs and bullets that we probably sold to their neighbours who are driving them out of house and home for political, religious or oil/mineral/water type reasons. You don't declare war on your neighbour without some tactical advantage - well, normally.

Putin is proving to be the exception that proves the rule that a numerical advantage of under trained, under armed cannon fodder won't win anything in a hurry, so he's bombing infrastructure and housing stock, plus the inhabitants that he illegally labels as military targets. If and when similar infrastructure around Moscow starts to suddenly fall apart and the lights go off for a few hours, he might find he's not so popular as he thinks he is after all. His advantage is he has more weapons available, but most can usually only be fired once. How quickly Russia can replace them is another matter. Military arms are generally not known for their recyclable content.

Well, oood a thunk eh? After the thick end of 4 years (might be 13) they finally get round to sacking someone for telling porkie pies about his own financial affairs and threatening those that uncovered it with court action.
Now if they could only turn their guns at others in their corrupt party doing similar and in particular telling lies about their actual "affairs" ...... ?

Not holding my breath on that one.

Whats to debate or investigate ? He got a penalty to pay from HMRC, that's game over man.

The latter from Zahawi summed up his zero fucks given attitude. If he was chocolate the c*nt would eat himself.

There was never a debate for him (others, well, there's a long queue to be fair) - it's just he believed he was so privileged he thought he could also throw SLAPPS, injunctions and libel suits at journalists that uncovered what was really going on.

Hell, you need to be a very, very rich Russian Oligarch, and maybe a donor to the Tory Party, given special privileges by HM Guv after also being sanctioned, to make those stick these days.

Typical Tory elitist behaviour on his behalf, but he and they really think they are entitled to do it. After all they are the ruling class and have been told so since their days at paid for eeeny, wheeeny schools and beyond.
