I recall My Boy Lollipop being played at ABC Minors (and the Odeon equivalent) on Saturday mornings while they loaded the spools for the next Flash Gordon space adventure or Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote 'toon. As a 17 year old, you're still considered a minor (well, in some places). In some places you could be a miner at 14 or 15 - like Barnsley fer instance.
