The Nations League: Ukraine 0 Scotland 0 - JOB DONE!!!

A 0-0 draw in their final group match and top of the NL Group again - well done Scotland!!Thumb up Lotsa probs leading up to this fixture for Clarke - a sickness bug affecting lotsa players, McTominay suspended, Tierney out, Robbo out. An adapted defence drawn up with Ryan Porteous playing in a debut CB position alongside Jack Hendry and he did OK v decent opponents. Aaron Hickey also doing very well when the "going got tough". I must say we definitely "rode our luck" in the first half when Ukraine forwards scorned some vg scoring opps. Our defence and mid players certainly settled in the second half and managed to attain a more assured and balanced performance to ensure another successful NL campaign. Scotland top of their group and automatically added to the pot 2 draw for the next Euro Championship qualis and a back up Euro play-off place guaranteed - LOTSA REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL FOR THE TARTAN ARMY!!! Our goal led a charmed life at times but still a fantastic result with a depleted squad.
Porto in particular had a brilliant game, and to be honest the rest of the defenders and Gordon were not far behind him.

He's not everyones cup of tea of course and is takes dour to a whole new level in interviews but he's doing a very solid, dependable job.

I notice a few Hun pundits like Boydy and McCann "biting their bottom lip" and happy giving Porto the praise he deserved esp on that last mins, last ditch tackle in the Scotland pen box.

The hun supporters don't want to give the national team and Clarke much credit.

Mainly because its doing better without Sevco players involvement.

Do remember Clarke was the subject of some horrible sectarian abuse at Ibronx when he was the Killie manager and didn't take that shit "lying down". He came out "all guns blazing" at that time and slamming into the dinosaur footie culture that he was happy to see behind him when he played out his footie career down south far away from the sectarian "bubble" that had haunted Scottish footie for donkey's years.
