There is no plan - never mind a plan B.
There is zero consistency in it whatsoever. Not to mention that the credibility of the government is completely shot to bits, if it even existed before....which is highly doubtful.

The people have been thrown to the wolves again whilst this new variant takes off.

"The Tory William Wragg said he hoped Boris wasn’t planning anything like a Covid press conference as a diversionary tactic later in the day."

Just by sheer coincidence - the so called "Plan B" becomes the dead cat story of the day.

Oh look, someone from Government has turned up to face the music this morning.

Yep! I concur with that view. The words, "Captain of a rudderless ship", come to mind. Also IMO, as previously opined, Johnson is a UK version of Trump if one peruses and compares some of Trump's worst actions during a pandemic when he and his govt should've been really concerned with the public health threat to his US populace. The similarity in behaviour is striking!

Rare I wade into this den of anger but here's my take PS I come in piece

Personal view couldn't give a toss on the parties, politicians of all parties have broken the rules what pisses me off the most is again we are being placed under restrictions on what might happen, million cases per day by the end of the month if that happens I walk naked to a North End game
Manadtory vaccination sorry not on unless it's smack
Covid vaccine passports sorry what cobblers 13 people got Omnicom at a Syeps concert somewher North of the Border enttrance to gig was by Vaccine Passport, 70 page report from the Scottish Government said Vaccine passports don't work
If the Government are wrong will they end the restrictions course they won't we'll get this again next year mind you we have opposition who don't oppose and want tougher restrictions Seriously
I despair right apparently you are allowed to sing at concerts and take off your mask, if you walk into your local superstore singing you do not need to wear a mask FACT

As the UK government hits the ‘Plan B’ button in a moment of epidemiological lunacy, in the past 24 hours both the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the EU Medicine Agency have both said cases remain mild.

15 hours ago the CDC Chief said that of the more-than-40 people in the US have been infected with Omicron, “nearly all of them were only mildly ill” and the “the disease is mild”. Just one person’s been hospitalised.

In the last few minutes the European Medicines Agency matched this, saying cases so far appear to be “mostly mild”:

“Cases appear to be mostly mild, however we need to gather more evidence to determine whether the spectrum of disease severity caused by Omicron is different (to) that of all the variants that have been circulating so far”

Meanwhile the UK government is preparing to hit the UK economy with a stay-at-home order, based on no hospitalisation or death data suggesting it’s necessary.

Right I'm off see you

It was all to change the narrative and take the calls to resign heat off him.

He then sent Raab out to do the milk round this morning where he came out with some complete bollocks about the rapid flow tests being much more reliable now. Where's his evidence for this? I've seen nothing that says the conmen we buy them from has, as yet, got approval/licence from the USFDA to sell them in the United States. I've also seen nothing that says they are any more (or less) reliable when used by vaccinated v unvaccinated people.

Behind all these smokescreens there are some serious restrictions to personal freedoms and human rights that are being sneaked through without debate let alone a vote in Parliament.

Absolutely Theo when you wander up to a game with a Vac Pass how many players are actually vaccinated
Freedom has been fought for and it is not a politician’s right to take it away
Just for a matter of interest hospital cases are now at their lowest since the middle of November there was a minute raise in infections North of the border about 1000 drop in Wales and NI

It’s all guess work supposed Ferguson been at the source again with his predictions

I don't have any problem with what the restrictions the Clowntramp has brought in, masks/working from home etc should have been in place anyway. Of course Theo is right that he has hit this button to try and deflect from the chaos and bullshit surrounding him currently.

We don't know enough about Omicron yet to be over confident. We know its more transmissable than Delta and that it is linked to a higher rate of reinfection. The unvaccinated remain a problem, including kids.

In effect, Johnson is a serial liar who lied to parliament and yet is still being "propped up" by people who have no moral compass about them and who have played a huge part in damaging this country beyond all imagination - THERE WILL EVENTUALLY BE A RECKONING ON THIS AND A GOOD FEW OF THESE CHARLATANS WILL BE "SLAUGHTERED" AS THE EVIDENCE MOUNTS UP AND WILL BE DOCUMENTED FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. I'd call it fitting and true justice, but it should be happening now!!
