Watched Richard Carapaz win Gold in The Men's Road Race this morning with a great solo effort, with Wout Van Aert beating Tadej Pogacar by a tyre width for Silver.
Geraint Thomas had his usual brush with the tarmac in big races, eventually withdrawing. What is it with him? Surely it's more than just bad luck?

And the breakaway strikes again with rank outsider Anna Keisenhoffer of Austria taking Gold, followed a long way behind by Annamiek Van Vleuten of Netherlands for Silver and Elisa Longo Borghini of Italy in Bronze position (who also won Bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics).

Great final in the Taekwondo there. A silver medal for Bradley Sinden. He came back from well behind at the start of the final round, got into the lead and was just seconds away from the gold. Unlucky!

I struggle to watch the women's gymnastics now knowing the allegations of abuse. Even if they now have their house in order, it's tainted.

The BBC coverage is so poor. Can't even watch what sport you want to watch as the BBC have lost a lot of rights to show the live events as they have gone to the Discovery channel or EuroSport behind a pay wall. BBC just show highlights of events or move from one event to another without showing the end and they spend more time sat in the studio chatting then showing any live action. The reason for all this is because the Tories cut funding cuts and because IOC did a deal with Discovery and EuroSport. It's going to be the same for the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022 and Paris 2024.

Alex Yee took silver in the triathlon. He looked like he was heading for gold in the run. However the Norwegian made a break and took gold. Johnny Brownlee came a honourable 5th.
Just watched GB beat Canada 24-0 in the Rugby 7s. That's the pull of the Olympics... don't normally give rugby the time of day.

At least you are getting to see the GB medals, I saw Peatty win but nothing on the diving or mountain biking. Having said that everything is on here either on various channels or on the Paecock streaming network.

Like Matt said though, it's not the same as before. It used to be on both main BBC channels and then press the red button and you could get loads of choices to watch.
Now it's one main BBC channel and one option on the red button. Not checked i-player, but I suspect it's not much else. There's lots of chat and highlights, mainly of what the Brits have done.
As for the pay channels, weren't Sky denied a bid for the Olympics for this specific reason?
