League One Rebuild Summer 2021
#1
Might as well get this up now. This summer is going to be crazy and crucial for us. Chansiri isn’t going anywhere and he says it will be Darren Moore in charge, so they are the ones who will oversee the comings and goings as we head into League one after 9 seasons in the Championship.

If ever there was a chance to firmly press the reset button, then its now. Below are the 16 players who are out of contract with us, some are loans. Which ones will we keep, which ones will we let go?? Can we afford to let them all go if we want to have any hope for a chance of promotion? Can we replace them if we let them go? Can we get a team to gel quickly enough?

One thing for sure is we need to make some quick decisions as to who we are keeping and the search for replacements needs to start asap, we will need as much time as possible to allow Moore to get the team together. I think the transfer window beings at the start of June, but lets make sure for once we are ready to hit the ground running.

Izzy Brown (Loan)
Kadeem Harris
Alex Hunt
Sam Hutchinson
Elias Kachunga
Tom Lees
Jack Marriott (loan)
Moses Odubajo
Joey Pelupessy
Matt Penney
Adam Reach
Jordan Rhodes
Liam Shaw ( Agreed pre-contract with Glasgow Celtic )
Osaze Urhoghide
Joost van Aken
Keiren Westwood

This leaves us with the following still under contract:

2022
Julian Borner
Chey Dunkley
Andre Green
Dominic Iorfa
Massimo Luongo
Liam Palmer
Callum Paterson
Joe Wildsmith
Josh Windass

2023
Barry Bannan
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru

2024
Cameron Dawson

Based on who is still under contract and assuming we don’t sell any, then we have the core of a team that should be able to challenge in League One. Adding to that team is where our season will be defined.

Lets stick and news, however speculative in here but for starters who would you offer a new contract to?

Of those still under contract, cant see Bannan staying, first decent offer and he'll be off.

Wonder how many have relegation clauses in there contracts?

I would offer Urhoghide a contract, maybe Hunt and Penney.

As well as what Kev said, I'd keep Rhodes, Hutch and Westwood on reduced wages  Cool

We need rid of Bannan so we can try to be less predictable Cool

Oh, and we could try and sign that chap Man City have just released Whistle

Of those oui of contract I’d only offer Urhoghide a new one and more than likely he will get a better offer elsewhere anyway. I know we need replacements but that’s a hell of a lot of wage money getting freed up !!

For those under contract and if there are relegation clauses on wages I’m sure their agents will be trying to get them better and longer deals elsewhere. I agree with Maddix on Bannan. We should cash in if a reasonable offer comes in and rebuild without him.

On another note it looks like Derby could be the new Wednesday next Championship season wrt to points deductions and embargo’s etc

I would keep Uroghide if we can, and like Maddix Hutchinson, Rhodes and Westwood. Rhodes could destroy defenses if we can get some players who can cross a ball.

Hutchinson will be vital as he can cover both our weekest positions on the field should dunkley and luongo carry on being biscuits .
Rhodes could like charlie says destroy this league but wether he will or not is another question .
Windass will leave as he will need something better than the pub league as too will young unbongo becuase he's no ties in the north and as soon as palace say he's gone !
Alex hunt is worth a new contract and will be useful in the pub league along with Penney should he want to lower his career even more ?
I don't see iorfa staying longer than the end of this year as he's way too good for this league if he gets back fit he'll be wanting out in the January transfer window .
The rest who are under contract will stay as they aren't good enough to get anything better apart from Bannan who I hope too fluck leaves as apart from the predictability we need a new captain who can curb this spursy dogshit culture .
Then that leaves the others who are out off contract ..well send them to mexico and I'll bag the bastards up !

Forgot about that shit cup and the other cups which we will now enter in round 1 o ffs what a waste of time !

Big teams we will be facing
Ipswich town
Portsmouth
Wigan
Bolton wankers
Charlton
And Sunderland when they fluff the playoffs again !

Derby's
Rotherscum
Doncaster
Lincoln possible

Bogey teams
Burton .

In all there looks to be about 6 teams that will fight it out for promotion the rest off the teams is just a toss of a coin I think !

Rotherscum have to be strong bet for a quick return I my eyes along with the big teams I've mentioned maybe not Wigan .
Pompey will be fierce opposition when the fans are allowed back and I don't see us taking pionts there niether at Ipswich or Charlton .

I think we really need to hope that there are four teams worse than us and then Dolphin might f'uck off and buy the grunters after a season of struggle in L1 Cool

I'm under no dillusiun maddix unlike mist Wednesday fans usually the ones who think Bannan and wildsmith are the dogs bollocks .
But unless we get a points deduction I think that Darren Moore will guide us to mid table Before he gets the chop at Xmas.
The basis of this team is shit and so is the manager but it's not as bad as the last time we went down .
